The two-and-a-half-pearl Hotel Rehoboth is a homey, family-friendly property located in downtown
Rehoboth Beach. The 52 spacious rooms are traditionally decorated in beachy colors and include mini-fridges and Keurig coffeemakers. Some also have terraces and/or electric fireplaces for chilly nights. Amenities include a free shuttle to the beach, a free breakfast buffet, and an outdoor heated pool. A free wine and cheese reception in the evenings and an Italian restaurant with a bar are romantic features. While the beach is nearby, the property is not right on the shore; guests wanting something beachfront may prefer staying at the budget Henlopen Hotel, though decor there is less up-to-date.
Scene
Boutique hotel with a homey atmosphere catering to families and couples
The homey Rehoboth is a boutique hotel with a comfortable atmosphere that attracts vacationing couples and families alike. A
large wooden staircase stretches down into the lobby, which is filled with large
plush couches and chairs and has traditional, antique-style wooden furniture, a fireplace, and a
baby grand piano. The hallways and breakfast room have blue carpet with golden
floral designs; the on-site restaurant -- Lupo -- is contrastingly modern, with wooden floors,
black chairs, and black-and-white art on the walls. There’s a single
elevator at the hotel and it's reportedly slow.
Location
Downtown location, a 14-minute walk to the beach
The hotel is located in downtown Rehoboth
Beach, in an area with lots of restaurants and shops and only a two-minute walk from Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. It's a 14-minute walk from the hotel to the beach itself, though a free beach shuttle is
available. Tanger Outlet
Rehoboth Beach has a variety of outlet stores and is only a seven-minute drive
away. The Delaware Coastal Airport is just over half an hour away by car.
Rooms
Homey, traditional rooms and suites, some with fireplaces and/or terraces
The spacious
rooms of Hotel Rehoboth have a homey atmosphere, a beachy blue-and-yellow color scheme, and traditional furnishings. Wooden
headboards, antique-style furniture, beach-scene artwork, and floral bed runners give a conventional but pleasant look. All units have flat-screen TVs and Keurig coffeemakers. King Studio Suites, King Rooms, and Premiere Suites
come with electrical fireplaces as well. Note that some rooms have a terrace with padded
outdoor chairs and lounge chairs, but only a few offer distant or partial views
of the beach. Fixtures can border on dated, especially in the bathrooms, with granite shower walls and
spacious granite double vanities. Most have shower/tub combos, with the exception of Deluxe Rooms, which have walk-in showers.
Features
Outdoor heated pool, free breakfast buffet, beach shuttle, and Italian restaurant
Fun features at the Hotel Rehoboth include a small outdoor heated pool with lounge chairs and a free breakfast buffet (though complaints have been made about the
quality of the food). The hotel hosts receptions every evening at which cheese, wine, and cookies are served. There's also an on-site Italian restaurant. Other freebies include loaner DVDs, beach chairs, and towels, and a free shuttle transports guests to the nearby beach throughout the day. There are two on-site shopping options: Mod Cottage, a specialty gift shop with a focus on housewares, and Cleo’s Boutique, a woman’s clothing store. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, and there’s a 24-hour business
center. One car per room can park for free on-site, but space is reportedly limited. Guests should note that
electric cars are charged a daily charging fee.
