Tropical Winds Oceanfront Hotel is an eight-story value hotel located on Daytona Beach. The building’s exterior is quite plain with its white facade and blue trim. The tile-floor lobby has a sea green accent wall and a light wood check-in desk. Across from the check-in area is a loudly carpeted room with wicker furnishings topped with blue-patterned cushions, a small glass table, and a wooden chest/desk combo with a computer for guest use. The Poolside Cafe has outdated wood laminate furniture, unattractive blue carpeting, beige walls adorned with palm tree prints, and floor-to-ceiling windows. On the beach side of the hotel is the outdoor pool and pool deck with a large, clean rectangular pool, and plenty of blue lounge chairs for sunbathing. Also on the pool deck, there is a shuffleboard court.

Tropical Winds Oceanfront Hotel is located directly on the beach, a five-minute drive from Daytona Beach Boardwalk. The property is a few minutes' drive from Daytona Lagoon water park. Other nearby attractions located within a 15-minute drive include Daytona International Speedway, the Southeast Museum of Photography, and the Daytona Beach Golf Club. The hotel does have an on-site restaurant, however SeaSide Bistro and Bar and Steve’s Famous Diner are two alternative restaurants within a 10- to 15-minute walk of the hotel.

Oceanfront Efficiencies have full kitchens and direct ocean views, while others are Oceanside and have microwaves and mini-fridges and somewhat less stunning views of the beach. City View apartments have two balconies and overlook the city and river. All rooms have TVs, free Wi-Fi, and private balconies. Bathrooms are on the small side, and have shower/tub combos.
