It's not as distinctive as the Plaza, but it does have an indoor pool.
Scene
Grand historic hotel with attractions for all types of travelers
The Plaza Resort dates back to 1888 when it was built as a beach cottage. It was later turned into a hotel and became a "grand resort" in 1911. It's one of the larger resorts in the area, and its entrance off Atlantic Avenue is distinguished by a trademark clock tower. The historic property is shaped like a T, with nine- and 14-story wings. The exterior is painted a soft yellow with cream-colored arches and accents, and a red Spanish-tile roof. The two-story lobby is majestic, with huge wooden columns, marble floors, and antique detailing. Multiple seating areas allow guests to gather in the lobby for social or business meetings. Windows in back look out to the pool, beach, and courtyard. Although cars are allowed on Daytona Beach, the hotel's beach is a no-drive zone so it is car-free. The hotel draws all types of guests, from families and couples to business travelers and those attending events at the nearby Ocean Center.
Location
Beachfront hotel on busy North Atlantic Avenue, near shopping, dining, and entertainment
The Plaza Resort & Spa comprises two blocks on busy North Atlantic Avenue along the oceanfront. The surrounding area mostly consists of hotels and condos on the beach side, and restaurants and shops across the street. It's convenient for business travelers attending events at the Ocean Center convention center, which is less than 10 minutes away on foot. For shopping and entertainment, the open-air Ocean Walk Shoppes is also less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Daytona Beach International Airport is about an 18-minute drive away, it takes 15 minutes to reach Daytona International Speedway by car, and Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is just under 30 minutes away by car.

Traditional rooms, some with hot tubs and excellent ocean views
Rooms feature traditional dark wood furnishings, neutral leaf-patterned carpeting, and cranberry accents atop white sheets. Traditionally framed tropical artwork hangs on off-white walls and cabinetry and furniture come in deep burgundy wood hues. Rooms have a home-like character, but they are a bit bland. Amenities include free bottled water, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, 42-inch flat-screen TVs, and iPod dock alarm clocks. Some rooms offer an elevated two-person hot tub in the bedroom. Larger suites add full kitchens plus dining and seating areas, and many have separate bedrooms. Bathrooms have beige walls and beige tile, with small black granite countertops, shower/tub combos, and toiletries. Oceanfront rooms have beautiful views of the beach from small balconies. Others look out to the city or have limited views.
