The Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik occupies an older cube-shaped white building. The entrance features a parking lot divided by lily ponds and palm trees. Inside, the reception area is decorated in a modern natural style with gray wicker couches, a bamboo front desk, and earth-tone ceiling tapestries. However, decor further inside the lobby feels dated and could use a renovation. The restaurant and bars present a similar mashup of modern and dated styles. The Barbara Bar, located off the lobby, extends outdoors to a lovely stone terrace with brown wicker seating and promotional umbrellas. Guests also gather around the outdoor pool and head to the sandy beach to unwind during the day. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere -- expect to see guests wearing bathrobes as they stroll to the spa and indoor pool. However, during summer, the property can get a little chaotic and crowded with families and children.

This property is located in a neighborhood surrounded by other houses and apartment buildings. There are a few restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The center of Zadar -- Croatia's oldest inhabited city -- is reachable in about seven minutes by car or in 35 minutes of walking. The Old Town of this walled city is home to historic architecture. For example, the Gate of Saint Chrysogonus contains part of a Roman arch, and Land Gate is considered one of Dalmatia's finest Renaissance monuments. Other sights to see include the National Museum of Zadar, Archeological Museum, and Cathedral of St. Anastasia, all within a 15-minute drive of the hotel. Zadar Airport is a 20- to 25-minute drive from the property.

Rooms at the Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik have a simple, pared-down style. Natural wood floors and interestingly-shaped wooden furniture are accented with peachy-colored walls and red-striped bed throws. Some rooms have spare wooden canopy beds draped with white fabric. Amenities include air-conditioning, minibars, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs that vary from 26 to 32 inches. Beds offer ComfortLuxe mattresses. Bathrooms have white mosaic-tile shower/tub combos and single vanities with modern basin sinks. Toiletries, hairdryers, and robes and slippers are provided.
