Aminess Grand Azur Hotel is a family-friendly hotel in every possible way with a mini-club for kids, outdoor activities like basketball and volleyball, and buffet-style dining options. The building is white and blue and sits on a fairly large piece of property. The hotel’s backyard is made up of a large pool deck that leads down to stone steps and paths that take guests to the pebble beach, shaded by large trees. The hotel takes advantage of the oceanfront location with views from many rooms and the outdoor terrace of the restaurant. Inside, the lobby is more functional than stylish with glossy floors, a wooden front desk, large columns, and a few seating areas on maroon carpets. The wealth of kid-friendly amenities draws many families with children in tow, but the beachfront location seems to attract a good number of couples, who slightly out number families here.

Aminess Grand Azur Hotel has a beachfront location on the quiet seaside town of Orebic, a convenient departing point to Koruca Island. There are a few restaurants on surrounding streets, though guests often make the 20-minute walk into the city center for diverse dining options, as well as to browse through shops. For those who enjoy hiking, it’s a 33-minute walk or five-minute drive to Mount Sveti, a lovely mountain filled with wonderful hiking trails. As this is Croatia’s wine country, it’s probably worth taking the five-minute drive to Korta Katarina Winery to experience some of the country’s best wine. It’s a little more than a two-hour drive to Dubrovnik Airport. 

The hotel offers simply decorated rooms with carpet, blond wooden furniture, white beds with tan or gray bed runners, and little in the way of decoration, beyond the occasional small framed piece of art. The rooms look a bit dated and tired, though guests don’t report any major maintenance or cleanliness issues. Amenities include TVs (either flat-screen or tube-style), minibars, air-conditioning, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Coffee- and tea-making facilities are not available. Some rooms have furnished balconies and views vary between the sea and a park. Like the rooms, the bathrooms are simple with gray tile, small showers or shower/tub combos, wall-mounted dispensers of toiletries, and hairdryers. 

Aminess Grand Azur Hotel offers a variety of family-friendly amenities. First and foremost, the hotel provides direct access to a pebble beach, as well as rentals of kayaks and water sports equipment. Guests can also book a ride to Korcula Island on the hotel’s private boat for a fee. An outdoor pool and children’s pool are available for guests to enjoy. To keep guests active and entertained, the hotel provides a basketball court, ping-pong tables, volleyball courts, and bikes for rent. Smaller children can enjoy a playground and a mini-club with entertainers. For adults, massages and beauty treatments are available for booking and there’s a small library of books and an internet corner to enjoy. The hotel’s restaurant is set up in a buffet-style with all-inclusive and half-board options. The hot and cold breakfast buffet is always included in the room price.
