The upper-middle-range Hyatt House Dallas/Uptown is a 141-room extended-stay business hotel located in Uptown Dallas, a short drive from many of the city's most popular attractions. Rooms here are designed for longer-term guests, and all come with sitting areas and fully equipped kitchens. However, unlike many apartment-style hotels, the Hyatt House offers plenty of on-site features, including a small 24-hour fitness center, a meeting room, an outdoor pool with a whirlpool hot tub, and a free breakfast buffet with cooked-to-order omelets. While there is a bar serving light meals, there's no proper sit-down restaurant for lunch and dinner. Travelers looking for willing to spend a bit more for an Uptown hotel with a bit more pizazz and better amenities should consider Hotel ZaZa, which offers room service and a proper restaurant.
Scene
Extended-stay hotel with contemporary interiors
Hyatt House Dallas/Uptown is an extended-stay property, but unlike many apartment-style options, it offers typical hotel amenities, including a pool and a fitness center. The lobby is simple and bright, if small, with a seating area featuring a sectional sofa and a few chairs and a pile of newspapers and magazines for guests. Fruit water and free chocolate-chip cookies are a nice welcoming touch, though the compact size of the space isn't really conducive to lingering. On the same level, the H Bar offers a mix of bar stools and table seating, and though it is technically a bar, its contemporary, streamlined furniture give it the feel of an office building cafe, and it could serve as a good place to sit down with a laptop and get some work done. While many of those who stay here are business travelers on assignment in town, the hotel also attracts some families and is a good choice for anyone looking to stay somewhere with in-room kitchen facilities.
Location
Uptown Dallas location, within easy driving distance of area attractions
The Hyatt House is located in popular Uptown Dallas, within a short drive of plenty of attractions. The surrounding area isn't pedestrian-friendly and lacks sidewalks in places, so it's better to drive to get around (or use ride share services or taxis). The hotel also provides a free shuttle, which typically runs every half hour (until 7:30 p.m. or so) and will drop you off within a four-mile radius. The American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Stars, is a two-minute drive away, and the Dallas Aquarium and the Dallas Museum of Art don't take much longer to reach. The Kalita Humphreys Theater, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is a five-minute drive from the hotel, as is McKinney Avenue, lined with art galleries. It's a seven-minute drive to Robert E. Lee Park, which has plenty of running and cycling trails, and a nine-minute drive (or 27-minute ride via public transportation) to Dallas Zoo. The upscale restaurants at Knox-Henderson take 10 minutes to reach by car and it's a 12-minute drive to the center of West Village, with lots of shopping. It's a 14-minute drive to Texas Love Field Airport and a 24-minute drive to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Rooms come in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom/two-bathroom configurations, and accessible rooms with roll-in showers or wheelchair-accessible bath tubs are available.
