Bottom Line

Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre is a 500-room upscale business hotel located in North Dallas, near the massive Galleria Mall. The rooms and suites here are pleasantly furnished and have floor-to-ceiling windows, many with city views. Features include an executive club with free breakfast and hors d'oeuvres for qualifying guests (i.e., those in Executive Rooms and suites), a pleasant outdoor pool with a kids' area, and a well-equipped fitness center. There are also a bar, a restaurant, and room service, though none are open around the clock and there aren't a ton of late-night dining alternatives in the immediate area. Extra fees for breakfast, parking, and even Wi-Fi might put some travelers off. Business travelers may want to compare rates and amenities at the Westin Galleria Dallas, which is attached to the Galleria and offers free parking.

Scene

Business hotel in a corporate-style building with a generic lobby save for a few touches

Housed in a towering glass building that could easily be mistaken for an office tower, the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre is an upscale conference hotel that primarily attracts business travelers, though its proximity to the enormous Galleria Mall and its handful of family-friendly features make it a reasonable option for vacationing families, too. The lobby has the generic look and feel of an airport, with low ceilings embedded with security cameras and recessed lighting and a long, rounded granite reception desk. The hotel bar area sits off to one side and is cozy but generic, with patterned carpets and neutral sofas and chairs, but there is a chic seating area right at the entrance with periwinkle-hued chairs atop a blue-and-gray rug that's patterned to resemble a slice of agate.

Location

In North Dallas on the LBJ Freeway, near the huge Galleria Mall and 20 minutes from downtown

Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre is located on the LBJ Freeway, in the Lincoln Centre complex and on the outskirts of the Park Cities. There are limited things to do in the area, aside from visiting the massive Galleria Mall, a three-minute drive away. It's a 19-minute drive to Dallas Love Field and a 23-minute drive to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Southern Methodist University, the Dallas Country Club, the AT&T Performing Arts Center, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Dallas Museum of Art can all be reached in under 15 minutes by car. Downtown Dallas and attractions such as the Dallas World Aquarium, Reunion Tower, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, the to the Dallas Zoo, and the Dallas Heritage Village (a reconstructed historic village) all take under 20 minutes to reach by car, traffic permitting.

Rooms

Pleasantly decorated but simple rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windors

The Hilton offers a variety of rooms and suites, all with simple and traditional (but not dated) decor, including rounded headboards, bright-blue crushed velvet chairs, and grayish-blue accent walls and matching black-out curtains with gold patterns that add a Gallic touch to the spaces. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light, and rooms on higher floors have great city views. Bathrooms are small, with shower/tub combos and plenty of drawers and counter space. Entry-level Deluxe Rooms offer one king-size bed or two queens or doubles and come with 40-inch flat-screen TVs, desks, and coffee- and tea-making facilities. Wi-Fi is available, but it costs extra. Executive Rooms have similar features to their Deluxe counterparts, but add high-end bath products, robes, and access to the Executive Lounge, which comes with free breakfast, appetizers, and use of a business center. Accessible Deluxe and Executive Rooms with railings in the bathrooms are also available. The hotel also offers a variety of suites, some with wet bars and/or whirlpool tubs in the bathrooms.

Features

Lots of meeting and event space, pool, fitness center, bar, and a la carte restaurant

Although the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre has a few family-friendly amenities, including children's menus and cribs, the features here are focused mostly on business travelers. These include 32 meeting rooms with catering audiovisual equipment, plus a business center with a few desktop computers and an all-in-one printer/scanner/photocopier. Wi-Fi costs extra. Leisure facilities include a smallish outdoor pool with a fountain feature and a kids wading area off to one side as well as a fitness center with lots of modern cardio and weight training equipment that looks out onto the pool area by floor-to-ceiling windows. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is served a la care at Crockett's Restaurant & Bar, which focuses on heavy Tex Mex dishes along with burgers, sandwiches, and a few pasta dishes. H Bar serves snacks and tapas along with plenty of cocktails, while L'Express sells grab-and-go sandwiches, baked goods, and coffee from early morning through the afternoon. Room service is also available, but it's not 24/7.Other features include a large gift shop with all sorts of souvenirs and snack items. There's also an ATM and concierge services are available. Valet and covered self-parking is on offer, but both options are expensive.
