Bottom Line

Nos Krusero Apartments is a modest, three-pearl property located in Sabana Westpunt. The property’s eight one- and two-bedroom apartments are plain and practical, with all offering separate living areas with sofa beds in addition to full kitchens. On-site amenities are limited to a nice outdoor pool. Lovely Playa Kalki beach is set right across the street, but otherwise there’s not much of anything within walking distance -- guests staying in this secluded part of the island should consider renting a car. Kura Hulanda Lodge & Beach Club is a great alternative for travelers who would prefer a property with more on-site amenities.

Scene

No-nonsense property best suited to independent travelers going off the beaten path

Nos Krusero Apartment’s is a tiny, quiet property, echoing the atmosphere of the tiny, quiet town where it’s found. Guest rooms are housed in a cheerful, two-story building, painted in bright blocks of blue, peach, and red-brown. Once you walk beyond the large parking lot found at the property’s entrance, you’ll find a small gated pool area on the right and a path on the left that wraps around the building, providing access to the guest rooms -- and that’s it. While there’s little to do on the property, more action can be found at Playa Kalki beach, which is just down the street. Nos Krusero’s bare-bones rooms and out-of-the-way location make it best suited for easy-going travelers looking to escape the crowds of Willemstad. This part of the island offers abundant natural beauty -- the drive from Willemstad is particularly scenic -- plus excellent snorkeling and diving. But a car is pretty much mandatory for exploring the area.

Location

Secluded location on the northwestern tip of the island

Nos Krusero Apartments is located in Sabana Westpunt (also known as Westpoint), a little town on the northwestern coast of Curaçao. This area of the island is remote and low-key, with the attractions and nightlife of Willemstad a 45-minute drive away. Playa Kalki beach, a pretty cove known for its good snorkeling and diving, is found across the street from the property. There are a couple of dining options within walking distance, but a car is otherwise essential for guests. Grote Knip beach is around a 12-minute drive away, while Curaçao International Airport can be reached in about 40 minutes by car.

Rooms

Unfussy one- and two-bedroom apartments have full kitchens and separate living areas

Nos Krusero’s one- and two-bedroom apartments are large and simply decorated. Units are tidy overall, however you may spot the occasional insect or two. Decor varies from unit to unit, but expect tiled floors, mismatched wooden furniture, and fabrics with dated Southwest-style or plaid prints. Most apartments have a few fake plants, and walls feature photos of Curaçao’s attractions. Wooden closets hold personal safes and beach towels. Each unit has a dining table and sofa bed. Flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi are also standard. Kitchens offer scuffed wooden cabinets and appliances that are older but functional. (You'll need to use a barbecue lighter to get the stove going.) Air-conditioning is offered in the bedrooms, and there’s an additional air-conditioning unit in the living area that guests can use for an extra fee. Stark bathrooms feature pedestal sinks and floor-level showers stocked with pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. All units have roomy balconies or terraces with a table, chairs, and a hammock or two. Second-floor balconies feature partial views of the ocean, while ground-floor terraces have nondescript views of the grounds. Interconnected units are available for families and groups.

Features

A cute pool and a handful of basic services

Like many self-catering properties, Nos Krusero Apartments’ on-site amenities are minimal. There’s a good-sized outdoor pool with a colorful little fountain feature. It’s surrounded by a brick deck shaded by palm trees, with a mix of wooden and plastic loungers available for seating. A beach is across the street as well.Free Wi-Fi is available throughout and there’s a big, free parking lot on-site. Pre-arrival grocery delivery is offered for an additional fee. Other services available for a surcharge include cooler rental, babysitting, and use of a washer and dryer.
