Scene
Quiet hotel with lovely lake views
The Lakeside Hotel is designed to enable couples and families to appreciate the beautiful misty Lake Windermere. The quiet lakeside hotel offers lovely gardens, a private jetty, and antique decor with fireplaces. Built in the 17th century, the Lakeside Hotel was originally a coaching inn. Later, in the 1900s, travelers working in the cotton trade stayed at the hotel. The stable block was converted into rooms in 1979. The hotel today is a mix of rustic and contemporary designs. A glass conservatory that wraps around the original stable block is a pretty, relaxed place for afternoon tea while taking in the panoramic lake views. The Oak Room has red patchwork sofas, a fireplace, and wood-paneled walls. There are more places to relax outside, too, including sitting areas with wood patio furniture surrounded by lush gardens and overlooking the lake.
