Entering the Lakeland Leisure Park feels like visiting a small town that offers everything a budget-conscious family needs on an outdoorsy vacation. Many of the families are returning guests. The park, is surrounded by woodlands, making it feel a little bit isolated. The private man-made Otter Lake has serene views, with a pebble shore, a water sports rental shack, and a jetty, where there are anchored kayaks and pedal boats. There are also bicycle and walking trails around the park.The park’s reception area is a small, white building that is decorated on the interior with camping-themed wallpaper. Across the road is a caravan sales office. This no-frills property offers a family-friendly vibe that due to the number of kids and families, can sometimes be noisy.

Lakeland Leisure Park is located on the southern Cumbrian coast of Flookburgh, with views of Morecambe Bay. The location is slightly removed from the more tourist-centric Newby Bridge and Lake Windermere. The Cark train stop is a five-minute drive and the Kents Bank train stop is nine minutes by car. There’s a fish and chips restaurant, Flounders, three minutes away by car. The Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding Company is a 12-minute walk from the park. The scenic Lake Windermere is a 36-minute drive. The World of Beatrix Potter, an interactive exhibit about the author, is 33 minutes away by car.

A range of caravans are available at Lakeland Leisure Park. Furnishings are traditional and some kitchens have modern appliances. Newer caravans require a higher fee. All caravans have kitchens, microwaves, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, central heating, bedding (in most), and gas fireplaces (in some). Prestige caravans have modern furnishings and gas fireplaces. The summer house has beach-themed furnishings. Pets may be allowed for an extra charge. Gas, electricity, and hot water are free. There are 100 motorhomes, 90 tents, 100 hookups, and 200 caravans for rent.

The Mash and Barrel bar and restaurant provides a casual environment for families and couples. The restaurant is casually furnished with light wood furniture, red chairs, flat-screen TVs, and a buffet. A skylight ceiling provides a lot of natural light over the pool table. A bear mascot entertains children. The bar is large and traditionally decorated. There’s also a fish and chips take-out place. The Live Lounge offers nightly entertainment in a bright and colorful room with a stage and lots of seating options. There is plenty for kids to do at the Lakeland Leisure Park. The Fun Works entertainment complex is large and colorful, featuring arcade games and a Pic N Paint pottery shop. The park also offers an indoor pool, with a kids' section that features fish fountains that dangle from the tin roof. The tile deck has boats for kids and showers, but no lounge chairs. The locker rooms offer a vanity area with hair dryers. There’s also a two-seat Garra rufa Fish spa. The outdoor pool, which is basic, is flanked by the mini golf course and the park’s restaurant. The nine-hole mini Crazy Golf course is decorated with artificial grass and rope designs. There are also two slightly weathered tennis courts.
