On a steep road on the outskirts of the lively resort of Hersonissos, Marni Village is a tough walk from Hersonissos’ beaches, cafes, restaurants, and attractions, but is within easy reach of the surrounding village of Koutouloufari.The hotel is also a half-hour's drive from Spinalonga, the eponymous island featured in Victoria Hislop’s best-selling novel, which can be reached by boat from the laid-back beach resort of Elounda. Other attractions within a 20-minute drive include the lively party mecca of Malia, and the fabled Minoan remains of Knossos.

Three villas, each with its own private pool, have more luxurious facilities. Most rooms have balconies or terraces with pool or sea views. Rooms are poorly soundproofed, and noise travels from other rooms. Upper-floor rooms are quieter. Guests seeking peace and quiet should choose rooms away from the main pool areas, and guests wishing to avoid the steep climb should ask for a room below the reception area.
