Bottom Line

This quaint (bordering on weathered) adult-only property sits high on a hill with panoramic views over Mirabello Bay. Run by a friendly couple, the hotel offers minimal amenities such as a small pool with plenty of loungers, a restaurant with local fare, and simple rooms. All rooms have kitchens, as well as balconies or terraces, but they are bare bones.

Scene

Small, flower-filled property attracts budget-minded couples

Greek statues dotting the flower-filled gardens and rooms named for Greek gods add some local flavor to the resort. Surrounded by bright flowers and lush gardens, the pool area -- with its views over Mirabello Gulf is a delight as well. Run by a friendly couple, the resort largely attracts couples due to its lack of amenities and its "no children under 16" policy.

Location

Within walking distance of Elounda's harbor area

On a hill above Elounda village, within (brisk) walking distance of Elounda’s lively harbor area teeming with shops and cafes, this property is an easy car ride away from the museums, shops, wineries ,and Minoan sites of Heraklion. It is a 15-minute drive from Agios Nikolaos, renowned for its paved shopping streets and legendary "bottomless" lake. Plaka, with its seaside tavernas and stunning views of Spinalonga, is 10 minutes away by car.

Rooms

Rooms lack interesting decor, but all come with kitchenettes.

Set on two levels, there are 14 studios and apartments. Studios and smaller apartments are comfortable with kettles, toasters, and kitchen unit with stoves, sinks, and plenty of pots, pans, and cutlery. Beds tend to be rather hard. In the smaller studios the rooms are open-plan and the bedroom areas are marked by a low, separating wall. Most find it worth spending a little extra to have one of the top studio apartments. These each have their own sunroof with lovely views.Double the size of smaller studios, the larger apartments have separate kitchen/dining areas with sofas and tables, larger bedrooms with dressing tables, and larger bathrooms. All studios and apartments have their own terraces or balconies equipped with chairs and tables. Rooms in the front of the building have sea/pool views; rooms in the rear have less attractive mountain views. Rooms close to the parking lot and bar areas can be noisy in the high season.

Features

Minimal features like a small pool and tiny fitness center

A residents lounge offers Satellite TV, a billiards table, a small library with a collection of books in various languages, free Wi-Fi, and board games. There is also an open fireplace for colder evenings and a tiny gym with dated equipment. The highlight here is the outdoor pool, although even that is small and nothing particularly of note. The restaurant serves evening meals, whilst lunch and light snacks are served in the pool bar. There are regular _meze _(Greek snacks) evenings and barbecues.
