An eclectic collection of two older buildings grouped around a newer main building with two medium-sized heated freshwater pools, Elmi Suites is centrally located for the attractions of the lively resort area of Hersonissos. It attracts guests with its location and low rates; though it has a couple pools and beach access, the property overall is in need of an update and there are multiple problems with rooms (namely that they can be loud and some have no views). Budget-minded couples and families, however, will likely appreciate those with kitchenettes.

Guests in the main building and families with young children tend to congregate by the pool during the day and use the facilities of the hotel’s bar and restaurant close by. Guests in the two older buildings on the property -- and couples seeking privacy -- head for the strip of sandy beach sandwiched between a series of rocky coves opposite to swim and sunbathe.

Close to several large water parks, Elmi Suites is close to Spinalonga, the eponymous island featured in Victoria Hislops bestselling novel, which can be reached by boat from the laid- back beach resort of Elounda. Other attractions within 25 minutes' driving include lively party Mecca Malia and the fabled Minoan remains of Knossos.

Grouped around the hotel pool, or spread out across two other older buildings close by, Elmi has two studios and 129 apartments suitable for individuals couples and families. Although decor is incredibly basic and bland, apartments in the main buildings are slightly more modern with spacious balconies; many have sea and pool views. Rooms in the two older wings tend to be dingy, with eccentric wiring and basic facilities.All rooms have bathrooms with bathtubs or showers, satellite TVs, safes, air conditioning, and small kitchen areas with fridges, electric hobs, kettles, and cooking equipment. Bright, airy rooms around the pool area are a popular choice, although guests seeking peace and quiet should choose a room further away from the pool in one of the older parts of the hotel.

Although there are several small beaches just opposite Elmi Suites, the hotel’s two pool areas, with plenty of free loungers and a seating area for drinks and snacks, are very popular. Porto Greco’s is a rather dimly lit restaurant serving a buffet menu for all-inclusive guests whilst the brighter. The more tastefully decorated bar restaurant just opposite is for guests dining a la carte. Across from the hotel’s main entrance there is a minimarket selling snacks and beach items, and there are several bars -- both inside the hotel and beside the beach -- serving drinks, snacks, and ice cream.The hotel has a pocket-handkerchief-sized gym with the usual basic equipment, as well as a small spa with two bath-sized whirlpools, steam rooms, and sauna available for a fee. Wi-Fi is available free of charge in the hotel's public areas, but there is a small fee for the internet corner, which has several computers where guests can also get online.
