Bottom Line

The 40-room family-owned Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa Hotel is
an upscale property set amid picturesque countryside, with beautiful views of
Pollan Bay and the coastline. The hotel has a lovely spa that offers a wide
range of treatments, as well as a heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and hot
tub. There’s also a large and well-equipped fitness center, filled with cardio machines, weights, and exercise balls. Guests can take afternoon tea in the swanky Front Room, or dine at the casual Jack’s Bar
and Restaurant, which has a kids’ play area and live music on weekends. The three types of rooms vary in size, but all are elegant and tastefully
appointed, with modern comforts that include flat-screen TVs, coffee- and
tea-making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Though there’s not much in the tiny town
of Ballyliffin besides a handful of eating places, there is a beautiful beach
within walking distance of the hotel, and several sights are a short drive away.
