The three-pearl WatersEdge Hotel Cobh is a waterfront hotel with homey interiors, right next to the Cobh Train Station. Its 19 rooms are spacious and have comfortable beds, large sleek bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. And rooms with ocean-facing balconies are worth the extra splurge. The restaurant and bar serves a

Scene
Quaint hotel with a homey atmosphere that attracts couples
The quaint, seaside environment of the
WatersEdge Hotel Cobh primarily attracts vacationing couples. The lobby features antique chairs near a fireplace
and striped dated armchairs and couches across from the low blond-wood front
desk. The decor feels a bit cluttered, with gold-and-white wallpaper on some
walls and clusters of sea-themed photographs or artwork on others. But the restaurant and bar is more pleasant and inviting, with wooden
floors, red walls, and ocean-themed art pieces on the walls.
Location
Waterfront location within walking distance of attractions and the train station
WatersEdge Hotel Cobh’s waterfront location results in lovely views of the open sea and the large cruise ships that port
during the week. It’s right next door to the Cobh Heritage Centre, the Annie
Moore Monument, and the Cobh Railway Station, allowing for a quick trip to
nearby Cork, less than an hour’s train ride away. Cobh is famous for being the
last port of call before the Titanic launched off to sea and the Titanic
Experience Cobh -- which focuses on the story of the Titanic -- is a three-minute walk
away. Dining options are less than a five-minute walk on foot. Fota Wildlife Park
is a nine-minute drive away, and Cobh Golf Club is a 10-minute drive. Cork
Airport takes 28 minutes by car to reach from the hotel.
Rooms
Spacious rooms -- some with balconies and ocean views -- but no air-conditioning
Rooms at the WatersEdge Hotel Cobh feature a mix of modern and antique furnishings, making for a homey atmosphere. They’re
spacious and have a predominantly white color palette with white bedspreads, white desks,
and white armoires. Touches of color come in the form of striped maroon couches and armchairs
and golden printed curtains. Floral or sea-themed art pieces decorate the walls.
All rooms have older flat-screen TVs and tea- and coffee-making
facilities, but they lack air-conditioning. Family Rooms
with separate bedrooms are available, as are rooms with large balconies with
chairs and ocean views. Bathrooms are sleek, with white tiles, spacious black granite
counters, hairdryers, toiletries, and large mirrors. Separate showers and deep tubs or shower/tub
combos are also available. Note that a few
complaints have been made concerning minor cleanliness issues.
