Perched on a hill for sensational views, this adult-only property (no kids under 15 allowed) ticks a lot of boxes for a relaxing break in the sun. Olive groves, peachy facades, and white-painted wrought irons are traditionally Greek outside, while breezy interiors are contemporary. The casual lobby has a country house feel from period-style furnishings, carved or distressed woods, and comfy cream couches with seashell throw pillows. Blue-painted inlays and backlit wood-beamed ceilings continue in the bright breakfast room and bar, although outdoor terraces are the most popular spot. Staggering multiple levels with many steps and slopes, they form a chic spread around an all-day a la carte eatery and two outdoor pools (one directly overlooks the sea). While the property is largely peaceful, Greek dancing nights are a favorite. Despite elevators and free shuttles around the hotel, steep steps are inevitable and may prove challenging for some.

Travelers choose Corfu for its stunning beaches, and the small shingle bay across the street from this hotel doesn't disappoint. Kalami is quiet, and its tavernas and supermarkets are within a five-minute walk of the hotel, but return journeys are up a steep hill. Taxis are available. A nearby bus runs to Kassiopi in 15 minutes, or one hour for Corfu's town. The beach itself is shingled, but turquoise waters are beautiful, and great for snorkeling. Corfu International Airport is a 54-minute drive away.

Lovely rooms come in a range of categories, but all tote the same contemporary-yet-classic style. Dove-gray or tan palettes have feminine finishes from carved furnishings, wrought-iron bed frames, or bow chair details. Rooms are bright from glass doors that open onto furnished balconies with lateral or full sea views in upgraded units. Soft-lit or chandelier lighting, sheer drapes, and seashell or floral artwork are homey touches. Aside from smaller Singles, rooms start at a decently sized 269 square feet (25 square meters).

Phones, desks, sofa beds, mini-fridges, kettles for tea- and coffee-making, AC, and flat-screen TVs come standard. English-language channels are limited though, as is Wi-Fi in some units. Upgraded rooms add on slippers and robes, Nespresso machines, and safes-- although lockers are free-to-use at reception. Large Suites or split-level Maisonettes have elegant living rooms or double verandas. Compact bathrooms have small showers, hairdryers, and toiletries. Note, elevators don't reach the top floor, and many rooms require a step approach.

Features center around the Mediterranean climate and the hotel's greatest asset: its beautiful bay views. The main ocean-view outdoor pool isn't the largest, but its freeform structure is impeccably maintained, and the surrounding deck with white loungers and umbrellas dazzles against blue waters. Although lacking sea views, a smaller pool surrounded by exposed stone is quieter. Guests hit the shingled beach across the street for the hotel-managed beach bar and restaurant, which is also open to the public. Drinks, burgers, and snacks here are well-priced, and shaded dining tables are set up. Beach loungers and umbrellas can be rented for a fee.

Free buffet breakfasts with Greek, cooked English, and continental options are served in the bright breakfast room, or outdoors. Terraces here serve the all-day a la carte restaurant, while dinners add on buffet options. Entertainment-wise, weekly Greek dancing nights are a hit, and live cabaret or tribute singers offer alternatives. An indoor bar is available, and travelers can also relax in the lobby lounge, where bookshelves are cozy. Sadly, there are no gym or spa. Pets aren't permitted. Foosball and pool tables, guest computers, free parking, and free Wi-Fi complete amenities.
