The sea views are gorgeous from the Pantokrator Hotel, a value hotel with 100 rooms in Barbati. Common areas like the lobby and bar are classy and modern, and the outdoor pool has plenty of posh lounging areas to complement the fantastic view. The hotel has a restaurant as well as both an indoor and outdoor bar. Breakfast and half-board plans are available. Standard Rooms are cramped and a bit dated, but the Deluxe Rooms have a more modern feel. The beach is nearby, but the mountainous terrain may be a challenge for some guests (including small children) to navigate. Guests may want to compare it to the Oceanis Rooms Apartments, a hotel with amazing views, private beach, and free Wi-Fi.
Scene
Stylish hotel tucked into mountain range with beautiful sea views
White buildings with terra-cotta roof tiles built on a mountain overlooking the Ionian Sea make up the beautiful setting of the Pantokrator Hotel. The lobby has stylish lounging areas with pillow-back couches and rattan chairs, and the sea view is fantastic from the pool area, a perfect place for relaxing in shaded daybeds. There is also a chic snack bar with wicker couches and tree trunk side tables. On a terrace overlooking the pool is a gravel yard with lounge chairs for sunning. A couple swings, a pool table, and a ping-pong table add a few opportunities for leisure activity at the hotel, and the beach at the bottom of the mountain is majestic with turquoise waters and pine trees growing up to the beach’s edge. This property is laid-back and romantic, a real Greek escape.
Location
In a steep mountainous area with restaurants and beaches within a hike
Pantokrator Hotel is built into a mountain in Barbati so getting around on foot means hiking. The terrain can be challenging and the free shuttle can be busy, so some guests opt to drive their rental car down to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. At the bottom of the mountain is a small beach and the main stretch of Barbati Beach is within a 15-minute walk, so good walking shoes are suggested. There are several sea view restaurants serving seafood nearby. The airport is less than a 45-minute drive away.
Rooms
Standard Rooms are small, while Deluxe Rooms are modern and stylish
Standard Rooms have white stucco walls and too much furniture crowding the small space. The sea view balconies are the best feature of these rooms. Deluxe Rooms also have balconies, but are more stylish with modern furnishings like rattan chairs and black-and-white photos. Deluxe Rooms have coffeemakers, and all rooms have mini-fridges, tube TVs, and small bathrooms with showers that aren’t much more than a curtain in the corner of the bathrooms. There is no Wi-Fi (for that, guests musts head to the lobby).
