Bottom Line

Located on the Corfu Promenade, Mayor Mon Repos Palace "Art Hotel" is an adult-only mid-range chain hotel with 100 elegant, air-conditioned rooms. There is a small outdoor pool with sunning area, live entertainment, and a restaurant with inviting sidewalk seating. The location is convenient, two minutes by foot from a small, rocky beach and the windmill (and near many restaurants and bars). The similarly priced Bella Venezia Hotel is another option in Corfu Town without a pool or full restaurant, but with a beautiful dining courtyard for enjoying the well-reviewed breakfast.

Scene

Sophisticated adult-only hotel in Corfu town

Classic, dark wood walls make up the lobby and bar area of the Mayor Mon Repos Palace, giving the hotel a sophisticated feel. Overall the atmosphere is very peaceful, from the restaurant out front directly across from the sea to the indoor dining room. Live entertainment is provided several times a week during the busy season on the hotel’s main terrace. There’s a small pool situated next to the street that isn’t crowded with small children since the hotel only accepts guests over 12 years old.

Location

On Corfu Promenade across from Ionian Sea

The hotel is located on the Corfu Promenade at the tip of Garitsa Bay. There is a rocky beach surrounding a windmill less than a two-minute walk away where visitors sun and swim. The sandy beaches of the resort area of Dassia can be reached within a 30-minute drive to the north, and the beach of Kontogialos can be reached within a 30-minute drive to the west. Both the high-end cafeterias of the Liston Promenade and the Old Fortress in Corfu are less than a 10-minute drive. The airport is within a five-minute drive.

Rooms

Sophisticated rooms with flat-screen TVs and scenic and furnished balconies

Rooms at Mayor Mon Repos Palace are elegant with a mix of modern and classic furnishing -- off-white bedding, marble tile or wood floors, chic silver lamps, and dark woods. The Deluxe Suite we viewed also had a few antique-style pieces, such as a keyhole desk. Several rooms have views of the Ionian Sea and Old Fortress from their balconies, and the Deluxe Suite has a huge balcony with a wicker daybed with white pillows. Rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars (fee), and free Wi-Fi. Robes and slippers are provided on arrival.

Features

Pool, Internet corner, and restaurant

Mayor Mon Repos Palace has an Internet corner at the bottom of the stairs with two computers and a printer for guests to use for a fee. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout. The restaurant has elegant interiors with dark wood columns and chandeliers, while the sophisticated patio has sea views. The breakfast gets high marks from most guests and includes hot items such as eggs and sausages. Room service is available for a fee. The small pool by the street also has water views, and sunbeds and umbrellas are available to rent for a fee at the windmill with its narrow strip of beach. A gallery conference room is available that can seat up to 220 people.
