Bottom Line

The 71-room Jason Hotel is a budget property built on a hillside in the village of Ipsos. Though there isn't direct beach access and views of the Ionian Sea and Mount Pantokrtor are distant, guests stay here for fast access to the village, pretty views, and low rates. The outdoor swimming pool and free breakfast are great perks for this price point. Rooms are clean and a good size with private balconies -- but dated touches include tiny tube TVs.

Scene

Family-run four-story hotel

Jason Hotel is popular with families and couples looking for a well-run and clean hotel with affordable rates, but those same low rates can attract groups of partiers, too. The pink facade is accented with white balconies. Inside, the lobby has a contemporary decor. Chocolate and white upholstered club chairs and sofas are clustered around a glass coffee table filled with seashells. The lobby bar includes a long wooden bar counter decorated with individual seashells. Bottles of liquor are neatly displayed. An enormous flat-screen TV and potted green plants complete the space. Outside, the swimming pool area has a stone wall for privacy and views of green mountains.

Location

Off of a quiet side road

The walk back to Jason Hotel from the beach or Ipsos can be difficult as the property is situated up a hill on a quiet and well-lit side street. Expect a 10-minute walk to the beach and about five minutes to the tavernas, shops, and restaurants in Ipsos Village. Corfu and Corfu International Airport are a 20-minute drive from the property. Parking on-site is free.

Rooms

Clean rooms with twin beds pushed together

There are 71 different rooms available at Jason Hotel, divided into four categories: family room, triple room, twin room, and twin room with an extra bed. Each is clean and has a furnished private balcony with views of either the green hillsides or the very distant Ionian Sea. Facilities include air-conditioning, a tube TV with satellite channels, and a mini-fridge. The decor is simple: white walls, tile floors, and low-to-the-ground wooden furniture. Bathrooms, especially the tiny showers, are a tight fit. Cardboard boxes of soap are provided.

Features

Swimming pool with kids' section, pool bar, and free breakfast

Jason Hotel provides guests with some very convenient features for this price point and doesn't tack on extra charges for parking, Wi-Fi, or breakfast. The outdoor swimming pool is huge and includes a sectioned off area for kids to play in the water without splashing adults. Sun loungers and umbrellas are a step above the cheap plastic kind. The poolside bar sells snacks and cocktails though guests have to venture into nearby Ipsos for a full meal after breakfast. Indoors, there's a second bar, billiards table, and desktop computer. Staff can arrange car rentals and excursions.
