Hotel Rosa Bella Corfu Suites Hotel and Spa is a mid-range property with 78 spacious suites overlooking Ermones Beach -- but there isn't direct access to the water from the hotel itself. A large outdoor swimming pool includes an adjacent kiddy pool and pool bar for snacks and cocktails. All-inclusive meal packages can be purchased at the Mediterranean-style restaurant. In 2014, the spa was renovated and updated to include an indoor swimming pool and Turkish hammam -- treatments and access to the facilities cost extra. Most rooms have views of the Ionian Sea, but could use a decor and technology update (Wi-Fi costs extra and there are tiny tube TVs).
Scene
Suites hotel with views
The scene at Hotel Rosa Bella Corfu Suites Hotel and Spa is laid-back and relaxed, with most guests spending their visit outdoors by the Olympic size pool or exploring nearby beaches and Corfu's golf course. The vibe by the Olympic pool includes quiet music and plenty of free sun loungers with woven straw umbrellas. The bright white lobby doesn't get much use but there are some comfortable sofas topped with international flag themed throw pillows plus a flat-screen TV. The restaurant has outdoor seating that overlooks the pool and Ionian Sea.
Location
Built into a hill overlooking the Ionian Sea and Ermones Beach
The hotel is built into a hillside (be prepared to climb some steps to get to the rooms) nestled among an olive grove and close to other resorts. Ermones Beach (awarded a Blue Flag certification) is a few minutes from the hotel. Expect pebble-lined shores and a dive shop there. Aqualand Water Park is less than a 10-minute drive from the hotel and Corfu's 18-hole golf course is nearby. Corfu Town is about 10 miles from the property so guests usually choose this hotel for its proximity to nature and the golf course, not for fast access to town. On-site parking is free and bike rentals are available.
Rooms
Suites with private balconies facing the Ionian Sea -- in need of a technology and decor update
There are three types of suites available at the hotel: family, junior, or large. Each has a kitchenette, private balcony, and view of the Ionian Sea. The only real difference between the suites is size and some minor furniture differences. Furniture and bedding is clean but it does look dated. Mustard and red striped curtains and orange coverlets look straight out of the '70s. Full bathtubs are a nice touch, as are large stone vanity counters. Expect a tube style TV and to pay extra for Wi-Fi in the room.
Features
Olympic swimming pool, recreational facilities, and all-inclusive meals -- plus a spa
The features are why the Hotel Rosa Bella Corfu Suites Hotel and Spa is advertised as a four-star property. Half-board and all-inclusive meal and alcohol packages are available, though past guests have complained of extra charges for premium liquor. Bars are located next to the pool and inside the lobby. The Olympic-size pool and nearby kids' pool have a nicely landscaped sun terrace with free sun beds and umbrellas. Recreational facilities include a slightly brown grass tennis court, billiards table, and small kids' playground. Guests pay extra to use the spa facilities which include a large indoor pool, Turkish Hammam, and wooden sauna. Entertainment doesn't seem to follow a schedule but Greek dancing demonstrations are sporadically held on-site. If direct beach access is a requirement, check rates at the Golden Sands Hotel.
