The 45-room Hotel Kaiser Bridge and Restaurant is a mid-range hotel built across the road from the Ionian Sea. There's a small private, rocky beach with free sun chairs and umbrellas plus crystal clear water. Rooms are clean and simply decorated; some have balconies with excellent sea views. Breakfast is included with the price of the room and homestyle Greek cooking shines through with a special menu of the day for lunch and dinner. Alekos Taverna is popular with locals and visitors and offers excellent sea views. If you want a better beach and a pool, compare rates at Golden Sands Hotel, though it's much farther from Corfu and usually more expensive.
Scene
Four-story family-run hotel overlooking the Ionian Sea
Hotel Kaiser Bridge and Restaurant is popular with business travelers and couples without kids. Though children are welcome, there isn't a swimming pool and the overall vibe is a bit on the quiet side -- plus crossing the street and walking down to the steps isn't the most convenient way to reach the rocky beach with little ones in tow. Guests report that the hotel smells like the sea and lemon trees planted near the hotel entrance. Indoors, there's a living room style lobby with leather black and tan sofas clustered around wooden coffee tables. A manicured garden terrace includes a pretty white fountain.
Location
In Kaiser's Bridge near the fishing village of Benitses and historical sites
The hotel is built in Kaiser's Bridge just a few miles from the picturesque fishing village of Benitses. The street in front of the hotel can get busy with tour buses and traffic which isn't ideal for crossing the road to get to the beach. The Achilleon Palace, a historic once-private mansion dedicated to Achilles, is about one mile from the hotel while Corfu is just a six-mile drive. On-site parking is free of charge though it is limited.
Rooms
Clean and well-maintained with private balconies and (in most) sea views
There are 45 rooms at Hotel Kaiser Bridge and Restaurant. Each is simply decorated with red wood furniture, white walls, and framed mirrors hanging above a small desk. High ceilings and furnished private balconies make the rooms feel expansive. Mini-fridges and arched doorways are nice touches but tube-style TVs could use an update. Sea views are best from the front of the hotel on the top floor. Tiled bathrooms include single sinks and full bathtubs with a handheld shower faucet.
Features
Greek homestyle cooking, a semi-private beach, and bike rentals
One of the best features at Hotel Kaiser Bridge and Restaurant is the on-site restaurant, Alekos Taverna. It's a popular spot with locals for the affordable and home-cooked menu-of-the-day served on an outdoor terrace overlooking the Ionian Sea. Hotel guests also get a free breakfast buffet. There's a semi-private beach across the street from the hotel. Guests have access to free sun loungers and straw umbrellas. The water is crystal clear and warm though the rocky beach isn't the best in the area. Bike rentals are a fun perk. Just be aware that there isn't a swimming pool on-site; for better beaches and a sparkling swimming pool, check rates at Golden Sands Hotel -- but expect to pay more and be located farther away from Corfu.
