Elea Beach Hotel is a medium-size, mid-range hotel popular with families and older couples looking for a beach holiday with most of their meals included in the price. Sea-facing rooms cost extra and some could use an update though each is clean and has a flat-screen TV and furnished balcony. Two on-site swimming pools and access to a public pebbly beach mean there are plenty of opportunities for sunbathing and swimming. Staff provides kid's activities during the day and entertainment like music or cooking demonstrations in the evenings for adults. Wi-Fi and parking are free. It may be worth checking rates at nearby and similarly priced Hotel Magna Graecia, though it doesn't have sea views or private beach access.
Scene
Five-story family-friendly hotel on the beach
Elea Beach Hotel is laid-back and generally quiet, though noise levels can kick up after dinner when staff provides evening entertainment. The garden grounds are nicely landscaped with a swath of green lawn leading to the pebbly beach. Calm and clear waters are ideal for swimming. Sun loungers are widely available by the hotel's two swimming pools and there's a small toddler pool for little ones, separated from the adult pool by a large palm tree. Indoors, the lobby offers plenty of places to sit on slightly worn looking white couches. A piano and coin operated massage chairs are fun touches.
Location
Beachfront on the island of Corfu
Elea Beach Hotel is located directly on a pebble-lined beach and in a neighborhood that caters to tourists. There's a seafront path leading to Dassia Beach, Pyrgi Beach, and Barbati Beach along with several water-facing restaurants and tavernas. Parking is free.
Rooms
Clean but bland rooms, some with sea views
The rooms at Elea Beach Hotel have some nice details like hardwood floors, flat-screen TVs, and furnished balconies, and the wrought-iron headboards, light pink comforters, white walls, and wainscoting create a quaint -- if still basic -- feel. Twin beds are pushed together to create the illusion of a double-size bed. White bathrooms offer lots of storage space in vanity drawers. Bathtubs are a nice perk, but the shower is handheld. The views from sea-facing rooms are lovely. Book a top-floor or mountain-facing room to avoid noise from nightly entertainment.
Features
Two swimming pools, half-board meals, and a beach
Features at Elea Beach are designed for those who want to spend their holiday mostly at the hotel. Two meals and some alcoholic beverages are included with the price of a room. Food gets mostly high marks from past guests in terms of variety and quality. There are two swimming pools with ocean views and access to a pebble beach though there's an extra charge for loungers there. A kids' club keeps kids entertained as does a billiard table and ping pong tables. Staff provides entertainment for adults and families in the evenings. The lobby gift shop is handy for snacks and beverages. One room holds a massage bed for requested spa treatments on-site, but it's nothing fancy.
