The environmentally conscious, upscale Delfinia Hotel is located right on a beautiful beach with direct access to the gorgeous Ionian Sea. It is a bit remote, but there is plenty to do within the hotel, from swimming to yoga to tennis. All-inclusive packages are available at the two on-site restaurants, including a buffet option. The 185 rooms are simple and could benefit from being updated, but are clean and comfortable, with private balconies. There's a calm atmosphere that truly allows guests to relax, though families are welcome and catered to at the Delfinia.
Scene
Relaxed atmosphere, with sophisticated decor and beautiful gardens.
The Delfinia Hotel has a relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere. The front lobby is bright, with tons of natural light, and filled with elegant furniture, various comfortable seating areas, terra cotta-colored columns, and a computer area. The grounds are beautiful, with well-maintained gardens, willowy trees, olive groves, manicured grass, a variety of herbs, and brightly colored flowers sprinkled throughout. The vibe of the hotel is much more calm and quiet than other nearby hotels, although families with children tend to gather around the pool. There's nightly entertainment on the beach, but everything is done in a low-key manner.
Location
In the quiet beach town of Moaitika, near Corfu Town Center
This beachfront hotel is located on a quiet, rural street across from a supermarket in the small town of Moraitika on the Island of Corfu. A walking path along the beach leads to beachfront bars and restaurants. The hotel is just a 20-minute drive from the main Corfu Town Center, which has plenty more restaurants, shops, and bars. It's also close to some of the island's popular sights -- just a 15-minute drive to Achilleion, and a 30-minute drive to the Old Fortress. Corfu International Airport is about a half-hour drive away.
Rooms
Small, comfortable rooms with simple decor and private balconies.
Guest rooms are cozy and bright (some are on the smaller side), and have two twin-size beds pushed together. Some of the Family Rooms include bunk beds and can sleep up to four people. The decor is simple, but charming, with painted wood furniture, creamy walls, and a small painting on the wall. Each room comes with a flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and safe. They all have a private balcony with tables and chairs overlooking the grounds, some with better views of the water than others. The bathrooms are compact, with a shower/tub combo, and tiled walls and floors. A hairdryer is mounted to the wall and packets of soap are provided. Some past guests have complained of thin walls allowing noise into the rooms.
Features
Direct beach access, two pools, yoga tent, and environmental workshops
Direct access to the beautiful sandy beach -- complete with tiki umbrellas, a small dock, and turquoise water -- is one of the hotel's greatest assets. The only downside is guests have to pay for lounge chairs. There are also two outdoor pools, including a children's pool and a whirlpool. There are plenty of facilities to keep guests busy at the hotel, including two tennis courts, a game room, a kids activity room, volleyball court, and even a life-sized chessboard. The starkly white fitness center holds cardio equipment and some rusty looking weights. A unique feature is the outdoor yoga tent, which has wooden floors and meditation pillows. The hotel includes two good dining options. Feakes is the main restaurant, which serves a buffet-style breakfast and dinner. There is also the outdoor Taverna, where guests can grab a bite for lunch. All-inclusive packages are available. The hotel is dedicated to eco-friendly practices and, in addition to recycling and clean-water initiatives, offers workshops educating guests about various trees on the property.
