Still pretty fresh after its 2009 renovation, the Corfu Mare Boutique Hotel is housed in a Venetian villa-style building surrounded by manicured scrubs, palm trees, and colorful flowerbeds. Inside, the lobby space is modern and eclectic, with flocked fabric furnishings, leather couches, and cool stone tiled flooring. A shot of sweet kumquat liquor is offered to guests on arrival, while bags are loaded on to the luggage cart and ferried through bright, modern hallways. This adults-only property attracts a mixture of younger and older couples.

Corfu International Airport is about two miles away, or 10 minutes by car, while the nearest port is about 10 minutes on foot. There are, however, no beaches within walking distance.
