The Ibsens Hotel shares some facilities with its sister property, the Hotel Kong Arthur. Modern and clean, the Ibsens exudes freshness. Stylish, minimalist, and colorful Danish furniture and design dominate the property. The small lobby includes a smattering of furniture, and mixes charcoal, gray, and white with the occasional splash of vivid color in the form of a chair or shelves. There's also a small library with a table and chairs, and a few guidebooks for guests to thumb through. Three restaurants serve tapas, sushi, and Italian fare. An outdoor courtyard, which doubles as a smoking area, provides additional seating, along with an electric grill. With no business center, the hotel caters mainly to tourists, although its location might make it feasible for business travelers too.

The Ibsens Hotel, which shares space and facilities with its sister property, is situated on a quiet residential street on the edge of Copenhagen's central tourist district, and is a two-minute walk to shops, bars, and restaurants. The area is calm, with a bit of pedestrian and bike traffic during the day. The Norreport metro station, Torvehallerne Food Market, and the University of Copenhagen's Botanical Garden are within an eight-minute walk from the hotel. The airport is within a 20-minute drive or ride on the No. 2 metro line.

Rooms come in various sizes, and include Suites and Extra-Large Rooms that sit under the sloping eaves. Most rooms have double beds, although single-bed Tiny and Small Rooms are available too. All rooms come with flat-screen TVs with cable and free Wi-Fi, and have bright, modern decor with light-wood furniture and a gray-and-white color scheme offset by an occasional splash of color. The Jensen-brand beds are comfortable, and are dressed with high-quality linens. The all-white tiled-wall bathrooms come with hairdryers, stand-in showers, and shower/tub combos in the Junior Suites.

Guests of the Ibsens receive a discount at the Ni'mat Spa next door, which offers various body treatments, along with a hot tub, sauna, and an aromatherapy steam bath. Guests can also use the fitness room at the Kong Arthur for a fee. Along with Danish kroner, the hotel also accepts artmoney, a Danish alternative currency in which artists exchange their work for goods and services.
