Prices are, of course, high.
Scene
Luxury and romance in one of Copenhagen's most iconic buildings
Situated in one of Copenhagen’s most beautiful historic buildings, the Hotel D'Angleterre oozes luxury and romance inside and out. Doormen and bellhops greet guests at the entrance and, with fresh plants and flowers everywhere, the hotel’s lobby looks like a palace. There are plush velvety couches in front of the wood-burning fireplace, and antique mirrors, lamps, and ornate chandeliers hang throughout the hotel, some set high up in gilded domes. A grand staircase winds through the building’s six floors, making its grand descent into the lobby. The Balthazar Champagne bar with its long, black bar running the length of the room, is an elegant combination of contemporary and classic design. Modern cocktail tables are accompanied by high-back velvet chairs and the ceiling is hung with more ornate chandeliers. The indoor pool, despite not getting any natural light, is spacious and cavernous, with romantic lighting and modern pillars that hearken back to a Roman bath. The Grand Ballroom feel straight out of Cinderella. Hotel D' Angleterre is as romantic and luxurious as they come.
Location
At the heart of historic central Copenhagen, walking distance to all major sights
The hotel is situated on the busy Kongens Nytorv square in the heart of Copenhagen’s city center. The area is bustling with pedestrian tourist traffic, and buildings on both sides of the hotel are outfitted with designer boutiques, department stores, cafes, and restaurants. The hotel is located at the top of Stroget shopping street, and Nyhavn canal and the Royal Danish Theatre are both within a five-minute walk. The Montmartre Jazz House is a couple of blocks away and the Danish Film Institute is about a 10-minute walk. The nearest metro stop is right down the road and the airport is about 30 minutes away via public transit.
Rooms
A modern palace, with ornate furnishings, B&O technology, Nespresso machines, and some private balconies
There are 90 rooms at Hotel D’Angleterre and most of them are suites. All are impeccably decorated with classically styled lamps, antique mirrors, rich curtains and fabrics, oil paintings, and designer furniture. The suites all have an spacious lounge area separate from the bedroom with coffee table, presidential-sized desk, and plush couches. Bathrooms are spacious, with a bath tub, separate walk-in shower, bidets, and bathrobes. The Royal Suite is fit for royalty, with satin rose-gold bedding, antique mirrors, and a crystal chandelier over the bed. Many rooms have balconies with views looking out over the square. All rooms have a Bang & Olufsen flat-screen TV, game-connective media hub, slippers, free Wi-Fi, a safe, minibar with high-end wines and liquors, and Nespresso machine. Note that some rooms facing the square can get street noise at night.

The luxurious Amazing Space spa offers a full range of treatments, from stone massages to beauty treatments, and has a relaxation lounge. There is a heated indoor pool large enough for laps, as well as a sauna and fitness center; the latter is somewhat dark and on the small side, but has just about every type of weight and machine.
