Guests arriving at The Broadmoor are welcomed in
the property’s original building, Broadmoor Main, which dates back to 1918. The
pink stucco building has a few elements of Italian Renaissance architecture,
with its Tuscan-style tower and triple-arched entrance. Stepping inside, the
opulent interiors of this five-pearl property are reminiscent of a European palace, with painted ceilings,
marble floors, ornate furniture, richly patterned carpets and curtains, crystal
chandeliers suspended from the ceiling, and oil paintings hanging on the walls.
Outside, the beautifully landscaped gardens and lawns are punctuated with
intricately sculpted fountains and stone-floor terraces. This huge property of
3,000 acres has its own man-made lake, circled by a tree-lined path leading to
the many other buildings, accommodation units, and the villas and
brownstones, which occupy their own streets. The ambiance throughout is one of lavish Old World opulence. The property hosts many
conventions and conferences, with business travelers making up a large part of
its clientele; it's also popular with families. Many prominent guests have
stayed here, including celebrities, heads of state, famous athletes, and
prominent businessmen.

There are a variety of different room types
on offer at The Broadmoor, including Standard and Superior Rooms located in the
Main and South Towers, luxury suites, cottages with full kitchens, two
Brownstone villas with four floors, and 10 rustic log cabins as part of “The
Wilderness Experience” at The Ranch at Emerald Valley. The rooms and suites are
decorated in the same opulent old European-style of the public areas of the
hotel, with chandeliers, elaborate curtains, old-fashioned furniture, and
richly-patterned textiles, while the interiors of the Cottages and Brownstones are more modern. Some rooms feature gas fireplaces and balconies, and many offer
striking views over the lake, golf courses, or mountains. The rooms
are generally spacious, with either a king-size bed or two double beds, and
amenities like flat-screen TVs, DVD players, coffeemakers, free
Wi-Fi, iPod docks, and fully stocked minibars. Luxurious bathrooms are equipped with double sinks, bathtubs, and separate showers.
But guests report rooms in the original building do not reflect the same standards as those in the newer buildings.

restaurants to choose from, offering both casual and formal settings and a wide
variety of cuisines. The renowned Penrose Room is a fine-dining restaurant,
with a menu of contemporary European cuisine, while Ristorante del Lago is the
on-site Italian restaurant, and Summit is a French-style bistro. Other options
include American-style cuisine at La Taverne, healthy meals at NaturalEpicurean, and global cuisine at Play. Buffet breakfasts are served at the Lake
Terrace Dining Room, and the Golden Bee is an English pub serving typical pub
food.Access to the outdoor
infinity swimming pool is free for guests, but it's closed during the winter
months. There are two large outdoor hot tubs which can accommodate 14 people,
a children’s wading pool overlooking the lake, a two-lane heated lap pool open
year round, and a large indoor pool in the spa which is also open year-round. The
full-service luxury spa offers over 100 different types of services and also
includes a large fitness center equipped with a variety of exercise and weight
machines, and personal trainers, exercise classes, a relaxation room, 43
treatment rooms, and a hair and nail salon.Also located on the vast
hotel grounds are three golf courses, several tennis courts, and 25 different
retail shops selling clothing, jewelry, flowers, and gifts. Other activities guests can
take part in include cycling, paddle boating, horseback riding, fly-fishing,
and art courses to only name a few. The Broadmoor has 185,000
square feet of meeting and event space suitable for conventions, conferences,
and special events. Other convenient services on offer here include several
