This three-pearl Hampton Inn is
geared toward people visiting the nearby Air Force Academy, a seven-minute drive away. With spacious and immaculately clean
rooms, free breakfast and Wi-Fi, plus a large indoor pool and fitness center, the
hotel is ideal for Air Force guests and families or business travelers who
don’t mind short drives to get around the area. However, it's in a bit of a bland neighborhood (although there is a bowling alley and a cinema nearby) and takes 15 minutes by car to reach downtown Colorado Springs.
Scene
Clean and spacious chain hotel with attractive lobby and restaurant area
Situated off of the beaten path with no other buildings immediately surrounding it, this Hampton Inn is box-like and nearly indistinguishable from others in the chain. Inside, it has a
classy, welcoming lobby with a gas fireplace and a couple of leather armchairs. The restaurant where the free breakfast buffet is served has attractive
stacked stone pillars and chandelier lamps over both low and high bar tables. Most people who stay here choose the hotel because of its proximity to the nearby Air Force Academy.
Location
Near the Air Force Academy in an otherwise empty part of town
This Hampton Inn feels far away from everything, but it's located about a seven-minute drive from the United States
Air Force Academy. It's surrounded by open space and empty roads, with a few
commercial buildings on the horizon. The location is convenient to the
Air Force Academy, but it's about a 15-minute drive to downtown Colorado Springs,
and a 25- to 30-minute drive to Manitou Springs, the Garden of the Gods, Pikes
Peak, the Cave of the Winds, and Colorado Springs Airport. A car is more or less
required to get anywhere, and there is a movie theater, bowling alley, a
handful of chain restaurants like P.F. Changs, a seven-minute drive down the road.
Rooms
Immaculate and well-equipped rooms with mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers
Although all of the rooms and suites at the Hampton Inn are nearly identical, they are
spacious and immaculately clean. All rooms and suites come with a large flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi access, mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers. Rooms have pale-teal accent walls. Headboards, dressers, desks and nightstands are made of attractive dark wood. Bathrooms have wooden accents and all come with shower/tub
combos. Some rooms have views of the Air Force Academy campus or mountains in
the distance.

Free buffet breakfast with hot items, indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, and fitness center
A free continental
breakfast buffet with eggs, waffles, cereal, yogurt, juice, and coffee is served daily and there's a large convenience store
in the hotel that sells snacks and drinks throughout the day. Free coffee, tea, and
hot cocoa are available in the lobby day and night. The indoor pool is large but with little room around the sides. The fitness center has a variety of new treadmills, bikes, and weight equipment. The outdoor hot tub, while overlooking the outdoor parking lot, is pleasant on cold evenings.Other features include a small business center with computers and a large meeting room with several tables and chairs, plus presentation screen, TV and all necessary audio/video equipment.
