The Broadmoor
1 Lake Avenue

Located on Cheyenne Lake at the foot of the Colorado Rockies, The Broadmoor is an iconic luxury property covering a vast estate of over 3,000 acres. Guests can choose to stay in one of the 779 rooms and 107 suites, rent one of the two brownstone villas, or choose “The Wilderness Experience” and stay in one of 10 rustic cabins at The Ranch at Emerald Valley. This lavish property offers a vast range of services and amenities, with eight on-site restaurants, three swimming pools, three hot tubs, three golf courses, multiple tennis courts, a full-service upscale spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, and 25 shops and boutiques. There’s also a wide variety of outdoor activities, including rock-climbing, fly-fishing, horseback riding, tennis, and cycling. Overall, guests rave about experiencing the Broadmoor's luxury on a grand scale, though some find its traditional style full of floral patterns a bit dated.

Quality Inn & Suites, Garden of the Gods
555 Garden of the Gods Rd

The two-pearl Quality Inn & Suites, Garden of the Gods is a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers who want to stay within a 10-minute drive to the Garden of the Gods and downtown. Highlights include a free hot breakfast, seasonal outdoor pool, laundry room, free parking, and a small fitness center. The 124 guest rooms are dated, but spacious, with coffeemakers and free Wi-Fi. Upgraded units and Suites also have microwaves and mini-fridges. Travelers who are willing to spend a bit more for a step up can consider Best Western Plus Peak Vista Inn & Suites which has similar amenities but a nicer aesthetic overall.

The Mining Exchange a Wyndham Grand Hotel & Spa
8 S Nevada Ave

The four-pearl Mining Exchange delivers the goods for a business trip or grown-up getaway, with a great downtown location, a cool bar and restaurant, an urban spa, and a well-equipped gym. Housed in one of the city's historic buildings, this 117-room hotel shows off its vintage roots with exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, and Victorian furniture. The modern rooms have nice bathrooms with double showerheads, plus Wi-Fi is free. Unfortunately, there's no pool or hot tub, and views are disappointing. Rates are fairly reasonable for the location and given what's on offer, especially considering that hotels like the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Colorado Springs First and Main -- way out in the suburbs -- costs about the same and has much less charm.

Staybridge Suites Colorado Springs
7130 Commerce Center Dr

The Staybridge Suites Colorado Springs North offers an attractive combination of comfortable accommodations, a convenient location, and lots of value-added amenities. The mid-range, all-suites property is located just off Interstate 25, within a 15-minute drive of most attractions including downtown Colorado Springs, U.S. Air Force Academy, and Garden of the Gods. Highlights include a free hot breakfast, free dinners on most weekdays, a nice outdoor heated pool, fitness center, and 24/7 pantry. Parking and Wi-Fi are free, as is use of the guest laundry facilities. Suites are clean, spacious, and still fresh from a 2014 renovation. They include fully-equipped kitchens and sleeper sofas, but bathrooms are small. Rates are competitive, but the nearby Best Western Plus Peak Vista Inn & Suites frequently offers better prices, so it's worth comparison shopping.

Best Western Plus Peak Vista Inn & Suites
7265 Commerce Center Dr

The three-pearl Best Western Plus Peak Vista Inn & Suites offers travelers a comfortable stay and a convenient location just off Interstate 25. It’s within a 15-minute drive of most major attractions, including downtown Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, and the U.S. Air Force Academy. Highlights include a spacious indoor pool and whirlpool, laundry facilities, convenience store, and 24-hour fitness center, although it’s small, and freebies like hot breakfast, parking, and Wi-Fi are a perk. Its 99 guest rooms are clean, quiet, and nicely equipped with mini-fridges, coffeemakers, microwaves, and walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads, but they lack electric kettles. Travelers looking for accommodations closer to the Air Force Academy might consider the Hampton Inn & Suites Air Force Academy, which has similar rates and amenities.

Radisson Hotel Colorado Springs Airport
1645 N Newport Rd

The 200-room Radisson Hotel Colorado Springs Airport is geared toward business travelers and air transit passengers. Modernly designed rooms and suites have wet bars, mini-fridges, and microwaves. The restaurant serves American fare and free breakfast, and there's an indoor pool, an outdoor hot tub, a modern gym, business spaces, and a 24-hour airport shuttle. While this location is convenient to the airport, travelers wanting to be close to downtown are better off booking a room at the Mining Exchange, A Wyndham Grand Hotel & Spa.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Colorado Springs
7290 Commerce Center Dr

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Colorado Springs has a lot to offer leisure and business travelers alike. Located just off Interstate 25 north of downtown, the three-and-a-half pearl property completed an extensive renovation in 2017. Its impressive, four-story atrium hosts the free made-to-order breakfasts and evening manager’s receptions. Other highlights include a spacious indoor pool, fitness center, restaurant/bar, and event space for up to 225 people. Freebies of an area shuttle, parking, and Wi-Fi are excellent extras. The two-room suites are spacious and nicely equipped with sleeper sofas, wet bars, microwaves, mini-fridges,  and coffeemakers. But bathrooms are on the small side. As an alternative, the nearby Best Western Plus Peak Vista Inn & Suites typically has lower rates that include a hot breakfast -- but it doesn’t have a restaurant/bar or meeting space.

MCM Elegante Suites
6450 N Academy Blvd

The two-and-a-half-pearl MCM Elegante Suites is a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers willing to compromise on location for an affordable rate. The 122-room, all-suites property is on a busy road well north of the city center, with little within walking distance. But freebies include a hot breakfast buffet, Wi-Fi, parking, and even use of the guest laundry room. Free passes to a local YMCA also are offered, and there's a small 24-hour fitness center on-site. Suites are clean and comfortable and include fully equipped kitchens, but decor is mismatched and dated. Travelers seeking more contemporary rooms with better amenities can check rates at Hyatt Place Colorado Springs.

Garden of the Gods Resort and Club
3320 Mesa Rd

Built in the 1950s, Garden of the Gods Resort and Club is a country club resort perched over landmark red rock formations. Stylish lodge-style rooms have fireplaces and balconies with Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak views, and one- and two-bedroom suites offer kitchens. Features include a 27-hole golf course across the street, indoor/outdoor tennis courts, two restaurants, and a bar lounge. A full-service spa has a year-round pool and a modern gym with red rock views. There is also a kids’ club, a family pool, and a splash pad. This romantic setting is ideal for weddings, but the frequent on-site events may bother some guests. Rates are typically cheaper, and decor more modern, than at The Broadmoor, an iconic luxury property nearby.

Hampton Inn & Suites Air Force Academy
1307 Republic Dr

This three-pearl Hampton Inn is geared toward people visiting the nearby Air Force Academy, a seven-minute drive away. With spacious and immaculately clean rooms, free breakfast and Wi-Fi, plus a large indoor pool and fitness center, the hotel is ideal for Air Force guests and families or business travelers who don’t mind short drives to get around the area. However, it's in a bit of a bland neighborhood (although there is a bowling alley and a cinema nearby) and takes 15 minutes by car to reach downtown Colorado Springs.
