Bottom Line

Four Points by Sheraton Cocoa Beach is a
75-room mid-range hotel, located near the beach, Port Canaveral, and several other local attractions. It offers less-than-pleasant views and a small covered pool,
but the property does have a pretty lobby and large shopping area along with an on-site
restaurant. Guest rooms are basic and clean, though furnishings are a bit outdated. Guests seeking freebies such as parking, breakfast, and lower rates
should stay next door at Comfort Inn & Suites Oceanside Port Canaveral Area.****

Scene

Mid-range property with an array of indoor spaces

Located on busy North Atlantic
Avenue, Four Points by Sheraton Cocoa Beach is a five-floor property whose
exterior looks more like a commercialized museum and shopping center than a
comfortable place to sleep for the night. The first floor hosts the hotel’s
lobby along with The Shark Pit restaurant, Starbucks, and a surf shop. The Shark Pit features a
5,600-gallon shark and exotic fish aquarium, blue carpeting with a surfboard pattern, and wooden tables and chairs with blue cushions. The aquarium is
flanked by a bar on one side, so that lucky guests who arrive early enough can
enjoy a show with their dinner. Located by the hotel’s parking garage is the small free-form pool.
The area also has a waterfall, hot tub, and lounge chairs.

Location

Minutes from the beach, local eateries, and several attractions

This Four Points by Sheraton is five minutes from the beach and is also close to several area
attractions. Port Canaveral, Jetty Park, Shepard Park, Brevard Zoo, and Kennedy
Space Center Visitor Complex are just a few of the spots located within a
30-minute drive of the hotel. Although the property has its own restaurant, guests
seeking additional options can find other eateries just a short
stroll away, including A N.Y. Pizza House, Branos Italian Grill, Epic Burrito
Company, and Thai Fuku. The airport is about 35 to 40
minutes south by car.

Rooms

No views and loud air-conditioning units, but rooms are clean

Outfitted
with either double queen or single king beds, all of the rooms here feature
dark-blue carpeting, light yellow walls, and outdated light wood furniture.
Units also come with coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, desks, and
either walk-in showers or shower/tub combos in basic, no-frills bathrooms. Rooms have individual
air-conditioning units as well, but many guests complain that they are very
loud. The views from most of the rooms are of the hotel’s restaurant or
shopping center.****

Features

Small pool, large shopping area, and an on-site restaurant

The features of this Four Points by Sheraton property are quite minimal compared
with other nearby hotels. Although there's an on-site pool, guests complain
that it’s small, and since it’s by the parking garage, it's covered and not
conducive to sunbathing. Other amenities include The Shark Pit restaurant, a Starbucks, and a massive shopping center that features everything from surfboards to sunscreen, souvenirs, and clothing. Hotel freebies include Wi-Fi, coffee, and
water bottles in the lobby, and access to the 24-hour gym. The latter
has several machines along with free weights and towels. Meeting spaces are available for business travelers as well.
