Value hotel with clean, apartment-style rooms located right on the water
Located just north of the causeway on Clearwater Beach and situated on the Mandalay Channel, East Shore Resort is a small, apartment-style, two-story property with a variety of room sizes. The green sign out front reads “East Shore Motel & Apts” and a brick building houses the office. The grounds are lushly landscaped, and the property sits on the water, where there’s a marina and boat dock. There’s a large outside courtyard area that’s shaded by a tent and offers Weber grills for outdoor cooking.Rooms with full kitchens are spread out among a few two-story pink buildings. While some of the furnishings and decor appears tired and aging, the property is kept spotlessly clean and offers lower rates than other hotels on the beach.
Location
Located on the quieter side of Clearwater Beach, but still close to all the action
The property’s location on the bay side instead of the beach makes it a quieter option that still gives guests the opportunity to walk to restaurants, shops, and the beach, which is a few short blocks away. There is a CVS pharmacy across the street, and a Publix grocery store is about a five-minute drive away. Pier 60 is located within walking distance, and so is the Hulk Hogan Beach Shop and Frenchy’s Salt Water Cafe (famous for its grouper sandwiches).

Rooms range from studios, to one- and two-bedroom suites with full kitchens
Rooms are kept clean and have white tile floors, light-colored walls (hues of blue, yellow, or beige), flat-screen TVs, and full kitchens. Furnishings and decor in some units are better than others -- the smaller rooms could use updated furniture and appliances in the kitchen, while two-bedroom suites have stainless steel gadgets and newer-looking furniture. Some rooms have screened-in porches and face the water.

The pool deck is cozy, and the pool itself has sort of a funky shape to it. Pink-and-white umbrellas, lounge chairs, and tables surround the pool. The floating dock offers a place to park a boat, and free fishing poles are available in the office. Other freebies include bicycles, beach toys and umbrellas, use of a boat dock, and parking.
