Residence Le Ville del Lido

Evoking a bit of that Old World beach resort-vibe that Venice's Lido is known for, the hotel has a handsome aesthetic that's broadly appealing. Suites at Le Ville del Lido Suite Residence are housed in red brick buildings with metal grate balconies. Inside, the lobby has a warm, homey vibe with yellow fabric-covered chairs and sconce lighting. A charming key cabinet holds room keys just behind the small front desk. Outside is an attractive pool area with hedges, tall palms, exotic plants, and potted flowers. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are arranged on the lawn where guests can relax. There’s also an area with wooden benches under a big, vine-covered pergola. Overall, the hotel's lovely grounds and elegant, spacious suites mainly attract families who don't mind being a bit removed from the historic city center.

The hotel is located on Lido Promenade in an elegant residential area that's part of Venice's famous Lido -- the beach island. There are a couple of restaurants and cafes within walking distance, but for the most part the star attraction in the area is the beach, which is just across the street. It's not possible to walk to Venice's historic sights from here -- a boat ride will be necessary. Expect a 10-minute stroll to the main area of Lido where there are restaurants and shops, and it's a 12-minute walk to the ferry terminal, where water buses are available to Marco Polo Airport as well as Venice’s historic city center. Piazza San Marco takes about 30 minutes to reach by water bus, while other popular sites like Rialto Bridge and Basilica dei Frari are 45 minutes away. Marco Polo Airport takes up to 90 minutes to reach by public transportation (taxis are not an option from Lido). Cars are allowed on the Lido, but it will require a ferry trip from the mainland

The two-bedroom, apartment-style suites at Le Ville del Lido Suite Residence have charming, elegant decor that includes pretty furnishings like dainty white bedroom sets and matching jacquard bedding and curtains. It's a period style that borders on exuberant, yet the ample amount of space prevents the look from being overwhelming, and its far more fresh than many "historic" hotels that cram the city's central islands. All suites have separate living rooms with natural wooden floors, fabric-covered couches, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs. Kitchenettes are equipped with mini-fridges and electric cook tops as well as painted wooden dining tables that kick up the charm factor. All suites have two bathrooms -- one inside the master bedroom with a shower/tub combo, and an additional bathroom with a stand-up shower. Some rooms have private gardens, while others have balconies furnished with tables and chairs. 

The hotel has a seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub surrounded by attractive grounds with lawn chairs and umbrellas. There’s also a seasonal pool bar and the grounds include a playground. Breakfast is available for an extra fee and includes fruits, yogurts, and pastries. In warm weather, breakfast can be taken poolside. Guests can rent bikes for a fee, while those arriving by car (by way of the ferry) can utilize the free outdoor parking or paid garage parking. A computer is set up in the lobby for guests to use, and Wi-Fi is free throughout. Babysitting and laundry services can both be arranged.
