Best Western Clermont

A diverse mix of guests stay at this quiet, motor court-style hotel, including people in town to visit family or attend a concert at the nearby Riverbend Music Center. There also are many overnight guests simply passing through, owing to this Best Western's highway location and reasonable rates. The lobby is an inviting place to linger, with a cluster of sofas and big armchairs in a living room setting. There's also a drive-through registration option so guests don’t have to come into the lobby if they prefer. The adjacent breakfast area is a nice space with green carpet and granite tables, but the small room can get crowded in the morning. Other common areas include a dog-walking lawn and a pool area. 

This Best Western is located due east of downtown Cincinnati, less than one minute off the Interstate 275 beltway that encircles the city. The hotel is at the front of a safe and quiet area with residential houses, but it faces a very busy, four-lane road filled with restaurants, gas stations, and other businesses. A Big Boy restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner is adjacent to the hotel (less than a one-minute walk away) and a 24-hour White Castle is on the same street, no more than a two-minute walk. Several other restaurants are less than a five-minute walk across the busy street, which does have a crosswalk. 

There's a Walmart Supercenter an eight-minute drive away and two large shopping malls about 10 minutes away by car. The Union Township Civic Center is about an eight-minute drive away and has a park and ride center where buses transport riders on weekdays to and from downtown in 30 to 35 minutes. The historic Coney Island amusement park on the Ohio River is a 10-minute drive. The popular Riverbend Music Center and Belterra Park race track and casino are adjacent to Coney Island. 

Most of downtown Cincinnati’s major attractions are approximately a 20-minute drive, including the Duke Energy Convention Center, the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, the Great American Ball Park, and the Cincinnati Art Museum. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is a 25-minute drive, as is the expansive East Fork Lake State Park. 

All rooms in this Best Western have pleasant but dark decor, with brown carpet, beige drapes, soft yellow-painted walls, and earth-toned throws on white bed linens. Matching reddish-brown furniture of average quality includes headboards, dressers, and small desks with black office chairs.  All units come with flat-screen TVs, microwaves, coffeemakers, and mini-fridges. Standard Rooms are of average size and come in king or two-double-bed options. Suites also come in the same bed options and are significantly more spacious, with living rooms with flat-screen TVs and sofa beds plus second full bathrooms. Rooms facing the highway get some freeway noise. Some rooms are designated for smoking, and some past guests have reported lingering cigarette smells. 

Big tan-colored granite vanities are positioned outside the bathrooms below large wall mirrors and fluorescent light fixtures. Bathrooms are small and while generally clean, show the property’s age. They feature beige tile floors and beige acrylic shower/tub combos typically seen in budget hotels. 

The Best Western has a decent amount of amenities for a budget hotel, including an expanded continental breakfast with eggs that's included in room rates. Other features include a small heated outdoor pool and a small fitness center with one treadmill and one stationary bike. Guests also receive free passes to a private fitness club nearby. The pet-friendly hotel has a large lawn in the back of the property for dog walking, including sanitary gloves and a trash can. Up to two dogs are welcome in select rooms, for a fee. Along with free hotel-wide Wi-Fi, there's a boardroom-type meeting space for about 10 people and a lobby business center featuring one computer station and a printer. The hotel also has coin-operated laundry facilities. Parking on the hotel’s surface lot is free, and guests have the option of using a drive-up window that allows them to check in without leaving their vehicles.
