Scene

Sleek and welcoming with great bar area

Although it is bland and boxy from the outside, this Hilton Garden Inn is bright and contemporary inside. The lobby has shiny, white tile floors and artistic, cylindrical and orb-shaped lamps hanging from the high ceiling. Soft, gray reading chairs with playfully patterned maroon cushions are situated just beyond the front desk. There is citrus-flavored water available in attractive glass canisters atop a wood table. Sheer curtains and interesting faux-twig sculptures separate the lobby and Garden Grille, which resembles a
standard chain restaurant, with nondescript wood furniture and gray carpeting. The bar area looks more vibrant, with a lime-green table, half-moon vinyl booths, and a blue back-lit bar, all situated around a gas fireplace. More seating is outside on the patio. Guests include a good number of tourists and families, as the hotel is close to the baseball stadium and downtown sights, though business travelers also stay here.

Location

Next door to baseball field and Creative Discovery Museum

A block from the ramp to Highway 27, and within a few blocks of numerous restaurants, this Hilton Garden Inn offers a convenient location. The property is caddy-corner from AT&T Field (a minor league stadium), and next door to the Creative Discovery
Museum. Tennessee Aquarium IMAX Center is just a two-minute walk down Chestnut Street. Many other sights and venues -- including the Tivoli Theater, Chattanooga Convention Center, university, and riverfront area -- are all within 10 to 15 minutes on foot. Lookout Mountain and Chattanooga Airport are each about 15 minutes away by car. It
is 90 minutes to two hours from Knoxville Airport, and about two hours
to Nashville.

Rooms

Nicely equipped but can feel dark; large Suites with separate rooms

All rooms are reasonably spacious with comfortable,
Hilton-standard beds. Rooms can feel rather dark, however, due to the heavy curtains
on the windows, and lack of ceiling lights. Decor is also a bit dark, particularly the wood furniture and maroon carpeting, though the white bedding and framed black-and-white photography break things up a bit. Each room is well-equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffeemaker, plus a 32-inch HDTV, safe, and
ironing facilities. All rooms have free Wi-Fi access. The mid-size bathrooms are nothing
special, but are immaculately clean, with tan-colored granite
counters, white tile floors, and shower/tub combos. Suites are considerably
larger, with separate bedrooms and lounge rooms, each with a large sofa bed.

Features

Free Wi-Fi, indoor pool with hot tub, gym, and restaurant/bar with patio

This Hilton Garden Inn offers free Wi-Fi access in rooms and
throughout the hotel. The indoor pool is rather small, has an attached whirlpool, and is surrounded by a few patio tables. The fitness room is also small, and equipped with modern treadmills and weights. The Garden Grille hosts the southern breakfast buffet (along with cooked-to-order items), and serves a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and salads for lunch and dinner. There's also a full bar, and guests can sip drinks outside on the patio. Breakfast is not included, except for children age six and under. There is a 24-hour pantry with snacks available for purchase. Parking is outdoors and subject to a daily fee. The business center has a printer and computers for guest use. Meeting space is available for special events, with room for up to 100 people.
