Best Western Heritage Inn

With a location right off the interstate, this hotel hosts a mix of travelers on short stays. Guests tend to be budget-minded families with small kids, older vacationing couples, and some here on business who want proximity to the Volkswagen manufacturing plant and other local companies. A warm and welcoming ambience sets the tone in the small lobby, which has a stone fireplace, black leather chairs clustered around a white marble coffee table, and colorful prints of trains hanging behind the front desk. There's also a 24-hour diner that's a popular spot, particularly for breakfast. Many past guests have noted that staff here is particularly friendly and helpful. 

The Best Western is located just one minute off Interstate 75 on busy Lee Highway. Gas stations, a liquor store, other hotels, and several restaurants surround the property, including a Waffle House across the street. It’s roughly a 20-minute drive (west) to downtown Chattanooga, and 10 minutes by car to the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport. Lookout Mountain’s attractions, including the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, are approximately 30 minutes away. Hamilton Place Mall and its dozens of retail stores and restaurants are only an eight-minute drive, and the Volkswagen of America Group headquarters is just six minutes by car.

Guest rooms at Best Western Heritage Inn have slightly dated decor, but the overall look is still pleasant, and units are tidy and comfortable. Gold is used at the primary accent color, found on walls behind beds, throws and bed skirts, and stripes in the carpeting. The espresso finish on the matching wood furniture makes spaces feel a bit dark, but large windows help brighten things up. All units have desks and seating areas, King and Double Suites add sleeper sofas, and some Kings feature en-suite heart-shaped whirlpool tubs. Units come well-equipped with microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Wide granite vanities are placed directly outside the modern bathrooms, which contain shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and wall-mounted soap and shampoo dispensers. Noise from the busy highway that fronts the hotel can be an issue at times, so light sleepers may want to request a room in the back of the property. 

Unlike many Best Western properties, this hotel doesn’t offer a free breakfast. Instead, it has a popular 24-hour diner directly attached to its lobby. Popular with locals and travelers alike, the independently operated restaurant is known for its large portions and huge menu, which include Greek specialties and delicious desserts (but no alcohol). Hotel guests receive a 10 percent discount off their checks. The only other on-site food option is snacks and soft drinks from vending machines. Another highlight is a well-maintained heated outdoor pool surrounded by loungers and a few covered patio tables. There's no gym on-site, but the lobby has two computers and a printer that serve as the business center, there's meeting space for up to 150 people, and while there's no guest laundry room, valet dry cleaning and laundry service is available. There's free parking on the property’s surface lot, where some guests can park directly in front of their rooms, and Wi-Fi is free throughout. Pets are welcome for an extra charge. Travelers with limited mobility should be aware that the property doesn't have an elevator to access second-floor guest rooms.
