Scene

A charming boutique hotel with a luxurious, vintage style

The Dunhill Hotel opened in 1929 and offers a balanced mix of modern and old-fashioned styling. The hotel also houses a large collection of art pieces by celebrated North Carolinian Philip Moose. The tough brick
exterior gives the hotel a historic feel, while the lobby is modern and charming, with lots of color and crown molding. Leather armchairs, purple drapes, and
patterned carpets flow throughout small seating areas and there are tufted cream/black
chairs accented by red lamps. A free wine social is hosted in the lobby
every Wednesday and free tea, coffee, and cookies are available daily.
The classic yet updated Dunhill Hotel bar includes a granite countertop matched
to leather chairs with a touch of red fabric, while The Asbury (the on-site
restaurant) features wood tables, speckled tan floors, and
updated light fixtures. Detailed carpeting, wood beams, and beautiful antique
chandeliers decorate the polished event rooms.

Rooms have homey, vintage-style decor and include tan patterned carpet, and colorful nature or black and white
statue artwork on the walls. Some also come with four-poster beds. Antique-style wooden cabinets house flat-screen TVs and there are bedside tables with iPod docks. All rooms come with Keurig coffeemakers, and turndown service includes Ghirardelli chocolates and free bottled
water. Bathrooms are beautiful and feature gray and white marble tile, countertops, and shower/tub combos. Iridescent wallpaper adds a bit of shine. Some bathrooms also have walk-in marble showers with jets. Thymes toiletries and bathrobes are provided. While some of the rooms feel small, the Penthouse Suite is big and beautiful and features a living area with wet

Features

Wonderful on-site restaurant and bar plus 24-hour concierge services and business center

The Dunhill's on-site restaurant -- The Asbury -- serves modern takes on Southern cuisine at lunch and dinner, and receives generally good reviews. Small plates, beers, wine, snacks, and cocktails are available at the
Dunhill Hotel Bar throughout the day. Room service is also available. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel and both the concierge and business center are open 24/7. While there's no fitness center, all guests receive free access to
the Childress Klein YMCA. This hotel does not have any on-site
parking so guests must use the nearby Fifth Third Bank garage, which has a daily fee. For those without their own transportation, a free uptown shuttle is available on request.
