Public spaces at the Solemare are not as trendy but the two properties share a beautiful beach with open bar, mini-club for kids, and sunbeds. The 47 air-conditioned guest rooms vary in size and style depending on the level. The vibe is family oriented but couples can be comfortable here as well. Recreational amenities include an outdoor pool (at the Majestic), tennis, golf, and a fitness center. Milano Marittima, a small town with shops and restaurants, is within walking distance as well. Price wise, it may be worth comparing rates at nearby Hotel Perla Verde, though you'll lose the quick beach access.

Spacious lobby and beach club with amenities
The Solemare’s lobby is not quite as stylish as sister hotel the Majestic, but it is clean, bright, and spacious. The white tiled floors and white walls feel fresh, though the striped sofas are a bit tired. But this hotel is about value at the beach, and Solemare delivers. The beach is quickly accessed without crossing a street and a private club provides staff to entertain the kids as well as an open bar and sunbeds with umbrellas. Beanbag style pillows sit on artificial grass near the front entrance.

Family holiday on the Adriatic Sea close to tourist attractions
Hotel Solemare is located on the Adriatic Sea and near the end of the hotel strip, so there's very little traffic or noise. For families, it's ideally situated between the amusement and water park Mirabilandia (discount available) and Italia in Miniatura, a park with miniature models of famous Italian and European buildings. The Adriatic Golf Club is a five-minute drive away as is Casa delle Farfalle, the butterfly park. Historical excursions to Ravenna, the city of mosaics, Rimini, and the charming Republic of San Marino are 30 minutes to an hour away. There's a charge for parking at the hotel.

Though there are just 47 rooms, the decor varies greatly. Size and style depend on your pocketbook. Opening priced Classic and Silver units are small, with lots of Formica and dated ceramic tile floors. The accompanying bathrooms are drab with tiny showers. The Classic Family Room is outfitted in white and accented with turquoise. The Superior design rooms, the Pineta and the Margherita, are done in striking black, white, and gray motifs with bold awning striped drapes and whimsical details like flower-power wallpaper or a stack of luggage painted on the wall. The look is softened with wood floors and a tree stump end table. Both of these upgraded rooms have sitting areas and larger bathrooms with mini-green tiles and toilets, bidets, and rain-head showers. Open closets are convenient but can make the room look messy. All rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges. Balconies are standard with views of the beach or street.
