Though rooms have self-catering facilities, guests can grab drinks and light snacks at the small bar. Guests looking for a similar apartment complex closer to the beach may want to consider the Apartaments CYE Salou.
Scene
A utilitarian apartment block primarily housing families
Les Dalies Apartamentos primarily attractive families looking for a low-priced and uncomplicated holiday in the sun, plus self-catering facilities to keep costs in check. The design throughout is contemporary but bland, as seen in the lobby with white walls, fake-stone tiles, and a tourist brochure rack. Around the corner from reception is the bar, with zinc-topped cafe tables and plastic chairs in bright orange and royal blue. Outside is the wedge-shaped pool, set in a terrace with a limited number loungers and a wading pool for children. The terrace is never too busy, as guests typically spend their time outside the property since the beach is nearby.
Location
Six-minute walk from the beach in Salou
The apartment block is located by a busy main road, which means that there is inevitably some road noise. It’s a six-minute walk away from the beach, and five minutes from the shops, bars, and restaurants in the center of Salou. Those in need of a thrill can find PortAventura theme park a seven-minute taxi ride away. Tarragona, which has a more upmarket range of shops than Salou, as well as a Gothic cathedral and UNESCO-listed Roman ruins, is a 26-minute train journey away. Transfers from Reus Airport take between 10 and 15 minutes by car, whilst transfers from Barcelona-El Prat are between an hour and a 90-minute drive.
Rooms
Plainly decorated but well-equipped apartments with separate bedrooms
The apartments at Les Dalies Apartamentos won’t win any awards for their decoration, but they do the job nonetheless. The apartments are bare and plain, with white walls and contemporary light-wood furnishings that blend into the floors, plus color from moss-green sofas, floral photo artwork, and striped bedspreads. Each apartment sleeps four -- two in a separate bedroom, and two on pullout sofa beds in the lounge. Next to the living spaces are dining tables and the kitchenettes equipped with a two-burner stove, mini-fridge, and microwave, and basic cookware. Bathrooms are basic but functional with a shower/tub combo, bidet, and hairdryer, as well as toiletries. Standard amenities include a flat-screen TV and air-conditioning, as well as a balcony with patio furniture, although guests have to pay extra for a view over the pool.
Features
No-frills apartment block with a poolside bar
As a deliberately no-frills option, the Dalies Apartamentos offers little in the way of amenities beyond the bare essentials. The outdoor pool is a decent size, given that most guests head to the beach for a dip. The terrace also houses a separate shallow pool for kids with a couples pieces of playground equipment adjacent. There is a small bar by the pool, which offers light snacks and drinks, as well as a few vending machines in the lobby. Guests in need of something more nourishing will need either to head out in search of sustenance or cook for themselves. There's no gym or kids' club. Bikes are available to hire from the front desk.
