It might be worth upgrading to sea view rooms that have private balconies. For an alternative, the nearby Hotel Platjador offers free breakfast and evening refreshments, but bathrooms here are tiny.
Scene
Contemporary upper-middle-range property
Hotel Calipolis is a modern upper-middle-range property with sleek contemporary interiors that are clean and pleasant sunlit spaces. Gleaming tile floors in the lobby and mosaic-tiled columns are the backdrop to seating areas clustered around a wall of windows. Other common spaces have much the same look; black marble floors in the hotel's restaurant are paired with black columns and round tables illuminated by windows overlooking the street and beach beyond. Guests here are mainly leisure tourists or city dwellers seeking some beach time and an escape from Barcelona. The property also gets some business travelers due to its meeting spaces.
Location
Across the street from the beach and near restaurants, bars, and shops
The hotel is situated across the street from an LGBT-friendly beach, right on the edges of Sitges' small old town. There are several dining options nearby, including beachside restaurants, as well as plenty of bars and shops within a five-minute walk of the property. The town is known for its gay culture, and there are many gay bars and nightclubs in the area. There are a handful of art museums here as well, such as the Maricel Museum (11-minute walk away) and the Cau Ferrat Museum (11-minute walk away). The train station is about a five-minute drive or 12-minute walk away. Barcelona is about an hour's drive east of the city, or around the same amount of time via public transportation. Barcelona's El Prat airport is about a half-hour drive or an hour by public transit from Sitges.
Rooms
Pleasant, contemporary rooms have flat-screen TVs, minibars, and free Wi-Fi; some have balconies with sea views
Rooms here are clean and pleasant, with tasteful contemporary decor and a soft color palette dominated by neutral hues. Tile floors and light gray walls are complemented by simple and sleek white furniture. Large photographs of nature scenes hang over the beds, which are topped with neutral-colored bedspreads. They lack tea- and coffee-making facilities. Some units have sofas, while Junior Suites feature living areas and large terraces. The largest option here is the Penthouse Suite, which has a separate living room, a large terrace with lovely views, and a whirlpool tub and separate shower in the bathroom. Interconnecting rooms are available, plus there are two floors of rooms for smokers. Bathrooms are sleek and modern, but some can be a bit small in size. They're equipped with walk-in showers or shower/tub combos, plus larger bathrooms add bidets. Wall-mounted hairdryers and individual toiletries are provided. Beachside rooms might be worth an upgrade as they have private balconies furnished with chairs and tables, as well as lovely sea views. Mountain view rooms tend to overlook buildings and rooftops.
