The
upscale H10 Mediterranean Village is located in serene Cap Salou, within walking distance of three picturesque swimming coves. The 199 rooms are beachy and modern, decorated in a subtle blue-and-white motif and modern comforts like flat-screen TVs, and apartments with kitchenettes are also available. This family friendly resort has four swimming pools, a kids' pool and kids' club, and dining options including a buffet and a
la carte restaurant. There's also an adults-only terrace with hot tubs and a sauna for a little grown-up relaxation. Guests might want to also consider the H10 Salauris Palace, which has free in-room Wi-Fi at comparable rates.
Scene
A family resort with a bright and lively atmosphere
The H10Mediterranean Village belies its boxy roadside
exterior with an expansive Mediterranean lobby lined with terra cotta tiles crowned by an impressive glass-paneled atrium. It's a fairly functional and standard space, and not the kind of lobby that begs guests to languish throughout the day -- but there are plenty of places for guests to lounge or play throughout the resort. The lobby opens onto a large courtyard that screams "family-fun," with a life-size pirate ship complete with two water slides for slipping into
the kids' pool. Restaurants are casual across the board, from the main buffet dining room to the breezy poolside a la carte option. There are also plenty of pools, but guests looking for a beach will have to walk to one of the area's gorgeous natural coves. With the hotel's Daisy Club and services for teens as well, the resort overwhelmingly attracts families, but couples stay here as well.
Location
In a leafy Cap Salou, walk to three natural coves
Located on a quiet residential street with plenty of other hotels as neighbors, Cala Penya Tallada takes around five minutes to reach -- it's one of a trio of swimming coves in the hotel's Cap Salou area. Platja Llarga, the closest major beach, is
an 10-minute walk from the hotel, while PortAventura,
a major theme park, is about 10 minutes away by car. Costa Caribe Aquatic Park, a
Caribbean-themed water park with a wave pool, water rapids, and water slides, takes 15 minutes to reach by car. For shopping, Via Roma, located in Salou's downtown, is a 10-minute
drive depending on traffic. The Museu D'Art Modern De Tarragona, which features mainly 20th-century Spanish paintings and sculptures, is a 25-minute drive
from the hotel. Salou Station, with connections to Barcelona, is a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Regional Reus Airport is a 20-minute drive, and Barcelona's El-Prat International Airport is about 70 minutes away by car.
Rooms
Beachy, modern rooms plus apartments, but no in-room Wi-Fi
The H10 Mediterranean Village has 199 rooms and 173 apartments -- the look in Standard Rooms is beachy and modern. Expect to see a subtle maritime theme, with trendy shelving lined with artsy prints, intentionally weather furniture, and hardwood floors. Apartments include kitchenettes, and family rooms with separate bunk beds are also available. All rooms include balconies or terraces, and some have lovely pool views, though others are near air-conditioning units or areas of the hotel that pick up noise from garbage trucks. Double beds are twin beds pushed together in many cases. All rooms include flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, mini-fridges, and air-conditioning, but only apartments have coffeemakers. Bathrooms in Standard Rooms are also sharp and simple, with navy-blue border tiling and marine prints plus shower/tub combos and spacious marble vanities. All floors in the hotel are reached by elevators, and accessible rooms can be arranged on
request.
