Guitart Central Park is a 647-room resort located blocks from two sandy beaches, many shops, and nightlife. Its five pools, five restaurants, spa, and low rates make it a good pick for families on a budget. But the hotel is popular with young partiers, and it can get loud and rowdy. Most rooms are small, featuring basic amenities and old tube-style TVs.
Scene
A huge resort popular with families and groups of young revelers
With 647 rooms, five restaurants, seven bars, five pools, a spa, and a tennis court, this is one of the biggest resorts in Lloret. Lush grounds dotted with palm trees, flowers, and pools welcome guests into this large property, comprised of three seven-story buildings, and a lower one housing an information office. There are tons of stairs, but elevators are available almost everywhere -- though many guests complain that they’re slow and unreliable. While its myriad kid-friendly amenities make it a good pick for families, its low rates and close proximity to nightlife and the beach make it a favorite among young partiers, and it can be loud until the wee hours, particularly during the summer months. Poor soundproofing doesn't help either.
Location
Within walking distance of two beaches, and the city center
The hotel is located on a two-way street in central Lloret de Mar, within walking distance of nightlife and restaurants. There are two nice but busy beaches within a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and Lloret de Mar’s main bus station can be reached on foot in about five minutes. Girona-Costa Brava Airport is located a 25-minute drive away, and Barcelona can be reached in just over an hour.
Rooms
Though contemporary, rooms are small and basic.
Rooms at this Guitart are contemporary and fairly attractive, with laminate floors, wall panelling, and nice bathrooms with shower/tub combos. The hotel updated their furnishings and bedding from flower bedding to more attractive blue or purple blankets in 2015. While a few rooms have flat-screen TVs, most feature old tube ones. Rooms are overall adequate for the price -- but walls are thin, and there is an extra charge for in-room Wi-Fi. Junior Suites are particularly convenient for those traveling with children, as these units can sleep up to two adults and three kids.
Features
Five pools, five restaurants, seven bars, three kids’ clubs, and a spa
The hotel offers a long list of great on-site amenities, including five pools -- one of which is indoors and heated -- three kids’ clubs complete with activities, daily entertainment, and an arcade; a small spa featuring a sauna, a whirlpool, and a number of signature treatments; a tennis court; a rooftop solarium; and parking (for a fee). The fitness center is spacious, bright, and well equipped, but there is an extra charge for all guests.Three of the hotel’s restaurants offer buffet dining; one of them is available only to guests staying in Superior, Gold, and Silver rooms, and Junior Suites. Additionally, there is a cafe, and another restaurant serving a grill menu.
