Bottom Line

While there are other all-inclusive resorts in the area, few offer as many great amenities as this hotel, including several large pools; a great water park complete with a pirate ship and slides; and a spa. The hotel underwent renovations in 2014, and most rooms are cheerful and contemporary, with flat-screen TVs and balconies. However, some common areas -- such as the restaurant -- could use an update as well. Location in a quiet part of Lloret, within walking distance of the city center, is a plus -- but guests should note that there are a few pesky fees, including for Wi-Fi, and for use of tennis courts and in-room safes.

Hotel Evenia Olympic Park

Scene

Large upscale property located within a huge, four-hotel resort

This Evenia is part of a large hotel chain with properties in Spain and Colombia. It's located within a huge complex that houses three other hotels, and all of its common spaces -- including the pools, spa, sports facilities, and kids’ club -- are shared with the other properties. It can get busy, but most guests are either families or couples, and it doesn’t normally get loud and rowdy, as is the case with many all-inclusive hotels in Lloret. The hotel underwent extensive renovations in 2014, and most of its rooms and public areas are contemporary.

Location

In a mostly quiet part of Lloret, within walking distance of the city center

The hotel is located in a residential area a little removed from the hustle and bustle of central Lloret. Water World, a famous local water park, is located down the road, and there are restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. Lloret’s main beach is a 15-minute walk away, and Fenals Beach -- generally a little quieter -- can be reached in under five minutes by car. Buses to Barcelona, Tossa de Mar, and other nearby towns depart from Lloret’s main bus station, located a 10-minute walk from the hotel. All-inclusive guests have free transportation to the beach.

Rooms

Most are cheerful and bright, with balconies and flat-screen TVs

During the 2014 renovations the hotel revamped most of its rooms, bringing fresh coats of paint, cheerful, contemporary decor, and new bathrooms to the majority of units. The palette is now mostly white and blue, with cream-colored tiling, and a few pops of red and orange. A few older elements, such as the cheap popcorn stucco walls, remain. Non-renovated rooms are underwhelming, with generic, old-fashioned decor, and small tube TVs. All rooms have a balcony furnished with a couple of plastic chairs. Only Plus Rooms -- which are the renovated units -- feature mini-fridges (for a fee). Wi-Fi and use of in-room safes have an extra charge. Some guests have complained of thin walls.

Great amenities include a water park, several pools, and a spa

The hotel offers a long list of great amenities, including several large pools (one of them heated, and one kiddy pool); a fantastic water park with slides and a pirate ship; and parking (for a fee). There’s also a spa offering hydrotherapy and treatments, as well as a fitness center with classes (also for an extra fee), and a couple of squash and tennis courts. The restaurant serves a solid buffet, and the bar and nightclub are popular spots at night. The kids’ club is staffed daily, and features a separate game room for teens. Nightly entertainment is available both for adults and for children.
