Scene

Modern and minimalist

The property is upscale and elegant, with fresh and bright facilities, including the beautifully landscaped pool area lined with cushioned lounge chairs. There is an overall contemporary look, beginning with the huge, airy lobby with light wood, minimalist vases and accessories, and touches of bright color. The space provides a small alcove with two modern orange chairs for a private conversation, or a living room style area with striped couches in front of a flat-screen TV and adjacent billiards table and boardgame area. Guests gather at the beautiful outdoor dining areas with views of Sitges, and the outdoor lounge, which serves cocktails until 2 a.m. and has cozy seating clusters that extend to a lawn. The hotel draws a mix of business travelers and families on holiday.

Location

In a quiet, coastal residential area, a short drive to beaches

The hotel is located in an upscale residential area next to a golf course, in the hills above Sitges on Spain's Mediterranean coast. Guests need a car or will have to call for a taxi to visit Sitges, which has shopping, restaurants, and museums. Several beaches are a 10- to 15-minute drive away and the resort offers a shuttle service in-season. It’s about 40 minutes to the center of Barcelona, and 25 minutes to the airport. Parking at the hotel is free.

Rooms

Large and modern, with minimal decoration and small balconies

The 263 guest rooms are spacious and contemporary, with simple decor dominated by light-colored wood and blue and white bedding. White armchairs with matching ottomans sit near the windows. All rooms have furnished balconies, some with views of the sea in the distance while others face the pool or nearby golf course. Bathrooms are large and elegant with pretty blue tile and wicker baskets, plus modern fixtures, including bowl sinks and large shower/tub combos half encased by glass. Gilchrist and Soames toiletries are neatly displayed on a white tray placed on the marble vanity counter. Suites have whirlpools. In-room basics are provided: flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, robes and slippers, and irons with ironing boards. Noise and cleanliness aren't issues here.
