Scene

A chain hotel with a quaint Spanish style and gorgeous landscaping

Charming Spanish style
runs throughout the property and showcases exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, and
a white stucco exterior with a red tile roof. In the lobby, a large mural of a Latina American villa emphasizes the hotel's sense of place, while the terracotta tile and antique chandelier add further panache.
Red-patterned armchairs and a couch offer seating, while the high ceilings are covered in
dark wood. Free newspapers are available in the lobby. Strands of Christmas lights and green vines hang
from the ceilings at the Sunset Bar & Grille, which
has a friendly ambience and an indoor patio-style space overlooking the courtyard. The eatery is decorated with green patterned carpet, white tablecloths, Western-style leather chairs, and large arched windows. Outside is a quiet, tropical courtyard with a beautiful fountain
and the sound of chirping birds. Plenty of lush greenery surrounds the white chairs and
tables, and throughout the property there’s fantastic landscaping with palm trees, Bouganvilla, pansies, poppies, and impatiens lending charm and color. Guests include a mix of travelers, including couples and singles in town for business or the nearby beaches.

Location

In a residential area between Ventura and Santa Barbara, next to Highway 101

The Best Western Plus
Carpinteria Inn is adjacent to Highway 101 on a semi-busy street in a lovely
residential neighborhood. Tomol Interpretive Play Area and Carpinteria State Beach are within a five-minute drive. Santa Barbara -- along with the Santa Barbara Zoo, Stearns Wharf, University of California-Santa Barbara, and Goleta Beach -- are within a 15- to 25-minute drive.

Rooms

Spanish-style rooms with chain-like amenities; some have balconies with mountain views

Modern guest rooms continue the
Spanish theme, with dark wood beam and furniture accented with warm terracotta walls and lime-green bed runners. Framed prints of Spanish-style scenes further the atmosphere. Each room has a mini-fridge, flat-screen TV, coffeemaker, safe, and desk with ergonomic chair. Suites also have microwaves and sitting areas, and the Master Suite has a full kitchen. Some rooms have balconies with lovely mountain views. Dated bathrooms are decorated with brown-and-white tile and striped wallpaper, with shower/tub combos and
hairdryers provided. All bathrooms are well-lit and have Pantene and Vaseline
toiletries. Some guests have complained of loud exterior hallway and street noise.

Features

Outdoor pool and hot tub, restaurant/bar, fitness center, and free Wi-Fi

The pretty outdoor pool area has a beige stone deck with blue tile accents, along with several white sun loungers and a table below an umbrella.
The star-shaped hot tub is in a separate area with no seating. Both the pool and hot tub are small. Steakhouse cuisine in addition to wine and cocktails are
served at the Sunset Bar & Grille, which also offers breakfast (for a fee) in the morning. A modern rowing machine, cardio, and weight machines are available in the bright fitness center. The 24-hour business center has a printer and three computers that are well-spaced. Concierge and room services are offered, and there is free parking and Wi-Fi
throughout. However, room service hours are limited, and Wi-Fi can be spotty.
