Best Business Hotels in Cape Town
If you’re heading to Cape Town for business, there are a few things to consider — how comfy the beds are, meeting facilities available, and access to WiFi. We’ve visited the South African city’s top hotels and compared each to see how they stack up. Here are the best business hotels in Cape Town, though we hope you’ll find some time for leisure as well!
The Westin Cape Town
Cape Town Central, Cape Town, South Africa
The 483-room Westin Cape Town is a huge hotel set in a contemporary glass-fronted building on the north edge of Cape Town city center. The location means easy access to both downtown and the waterfront tourist hub, and it's particularly convenient for conference attendees. Room decor is pleasant and contemporary, if chain-like, with comfortable beds and superb views from high floors. The excellent spa with heated lap pool and modern dining options are also impressive, and more than justify the premium, though far from exorbitant, rates.
Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, Cape Town
Cape Town Central, Cape Town, South Africa
This Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, Cape Town is a 177-room luxury hotel with a smart, contemporary vibe and prime setting overlooking the sea. There's not much in the immediate vicinity, but the V&A Waterfront tourist hub is walkable or accessible via a free shuttle. Facilities and service are good, though not perfect, and the pool is a little small -- though views are superb. Ocean vistas from rooms are impressive too, though you have to upgrade for the privilege.
DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town – Upper Eastside
Cape Town Central, Three Anchor Bay, Cape Town, South Africa
A business hotel with a chic interior design, this DoubleTree hosts constant meetings and conferences in Cape Town's Upper Eastside. The rooms are modern and have work desks with ergonomic roller chairs. The location is convenient to reaching the downtown area, business district, and airport by car, making it a reasonable choice for business travelers, but there's nothing within walking distance for tourists. And the neighborhood isn't considered safe at night.
Vineyard Hotel
Newlands, Cape Town, South Africa
Set along the Liesbeek River, the Vineyard Hotel is known for its historic charm and esteemed restaurants. Its sprawling garden grounds are planted with grape vines that actively supply several local wineries. Far from downtown and the waterfront, the property is in a pleasant residential area and most of its rooms are large and luxurious with extras like espresso machines. Still, beware of older rooms that haven’t been updated. Like at so many hotels in Cape Town, Wi-Fi is limited to a daily allotment, but breakfast and wonderful views of Table Mountain are free.
Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel
Cape Town Central, Cape Town, South Africa
One of Cape Town's better-known luxury properties, The Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel attracts leisure and business travelers alike with its large number of features and elegant ambiance. There are 201 rooms and suites here, all of which feature classical decor, huge bathrooms, and modern features such as free Wi-Fi and big flat-screen TVs. Some suites also have balconies with gorgeous views of the nearby Table Mountain. Amenities include a pool, luxury spa, gym, and two heated outdoor pools, and the on-site fine-dining restaurant, Planet Restaurant and Bar, serves a varied menu of continental fare.
The Table Bay Hotel
Cape Town Central, Cape Town, South Africa
The 329-room Table Bay Hotel is an elegant but practical property that's popular with both business travelers and tourists, owing partially to its convenient location on Cape Town's waterfront. Rooms and suites are simple but elegant, with classic decor and opulent marble bathrooms; some find the look a bit tired, however. Standout features include a free breakfast buffet with around 150 items and a free hotel-run shuttle that ferries guests to various points of interest around town. The hotel also has a pool, small fitness center, bars, and a restaurant, as well as multiple meeting rooms and a business center with private offices.
