The Brass Key Guesthouse offers more than first meets the eye. Within this gated facility there are nine historically restored buildings (each with individual character) along with an outdoor heated pool, spacious courtyard, and a bar called the Shipwreck. With 43 rooms and suites, this inn is on the larger side for Provincetown. It was designed as a romantic retreat, and kids under the age of 18 are not permitted.This inn doesn't have a full-service restaurant, but it does offer freebies throughout the day. Beyond continental breakfast, guests can enjoy free 24-hour cappuccino and espresso, along with an evening wine and cheese tasting. The Shipwreck bar is popular for a night cap after a meal in Provincetown.

The Brass Key Guesthouse is located on Bradford Street, just a block away from central Commercial Street. During the busy season, Provincetown's version of Main Street often has a festive atmosphere, especially with weekly events such as Carnival in August.Provincetown is one of the Cape’s hottest destinations for gay and lesbian travelers, but there is also plenty here for straight travelers as well. Home to America’s first art colony, art lovers looking for original artwork will find plenty of galleries, exhibits and shops to browse. In town, it’s best to ditch the car and walk or cycle because parking is sparse and the streets are often filled with pedestrians.In addition to a thriving art scene, Provincetown has many restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and theater to explore. Nature lovers might want to check out Herring Cove, one of the most popular (but rocky) beaches in town. Generally, families go to the right upon entering the beach, and gay and lesbians head to the left. The Carriage House rooms are built in cottage-style, featuring plenty of wicker and wood while the Victorian rooms showcase American Victorian antiques. Renovations in the 1990s restored the interior with period moldings, doors, and lighting fixtures. The Captain's House has a special roof deck for sunbathing, along with a common area furnished with early American antiques and a gas fireplace.Rooms vary so widely that guests may want to request a specific room, based on style and amenities.
