Bottom Line

Hotel Baia Delle Sirene is a value hotel on the shore of Marina da Camerota in the Cilento National Park. There are a beautiful sandy beach at the hotel and a big, outdoor pool with ocean views. Half-board, full-board, and breakfast-only options are offered. There are 80 spacious rooms at the hotel, some of which have outdated decor and are in need of an update. The hotel doesn't have much for entertainment except for live piano music and a DJ on some nights. Guests willing to stay farther from the beach may also want to consider Cala Blanca Resort, a value hotel with wooden chalets.

Scene

Greek-inspired hotel with Odyssey-themed lobby

The lobby of Baia Delle Sirene (Bay of Sirens) uses its decor to pay homage to Homer’s Odyssey. It’s built to look like the interior of a ship, with large round portholes integrated into the windows. Cutouts shaped like men hold ropes hanging from the soaring ceiling, designed to resemble the ropes on a boat mast. Artsy white couches offer guests a spot to have a cocktail while enjoying the space. The hotel continues the Odyssey theme with a big, white boat in the restaurant that's used to store wine bottles. In another room, hanging from chains are photos of ruins of the ancient city of Elea, founded by the Greeks in the Cilento region now known as Velia. A quote from the Eleatic philosopher Parmenides is displayed on the wall, which translates to “It is necessary to speak and to think what is; for being is, but nothing is not.”

Location

On coast of Marina di Camerota and a short walk to town

The Hotel Baia Delle Sirene is on the coast of Marina di Camerota and under a 10-minute walk to the center of town, where visitors can find shops, restaurants, and bars. At Cape Palinuro, less than a 20-minute drive, visitors can take a boat tour to see impressive sea caves and a secluded beach. Naples and its airport take under three hours by car.

Rooms

Spacious rooms, some in need of an update

Renovated Single Rooms are breezy with tile floors and light blue walls. Bedside lamps made of raw wood and closet doors decorated with siren tails give the space a beachy feel. Some rooms have tube-style TVs, patterned tile floors, and dated bedspreads; they're in need of a renovation. All rooms have mini-fridges and bathrooms with walk-in showers. Some rooms have balconies with gorgeous ocean views. Rooms don't have Internet, but some are close enough to common areas to pick up the free Wi-Fi signal.

Features

Sandy beach, ocean-view pool, and buffet restaurant

There’s a flat, sandy beach with lounge chairs and parasols, and the seaside location of the hotel results in beautiful ocean views from its outdoor pool with two whirlpools, children’s pool, and nearby bar. The views can also be enjoyed from the restaurant, where lunch and dinner buffets and a free breakfast are served. There’s an additional bar in the chic lobby, and free Wi-Fi is available in some common areas. Wine and olive oil products are available for purchase at the hotel, and there’s free parking.
