tube-style TVs
Guests typically love the beautiful beach and lush grounds at
the Happy Village, a sprawling, mid-range hotel with 257 rooms that offers full- and half-board options. There are plenty of recreation areas available as well
as an activities team that organizes entertainment. Note that the hotel
gets low marks for its lunch and dinner buffet, which guests reveal consists of repetitive, low quality food items. Rooms are no-frills but have some quaint charm.
Scene
Family-friendly resort with beautifully landscaped grounds
Pretty landscaping including stone paths bordered by flowers, lawns with olive
trees and fiery bushes, and flowering vines climbing up the sides of buildings gives the
Happy Village its natural appeal. The buffet restaurant feels like a rustic
dining hall and has exposed wooden ceilings. Grassy hills enclose the sandy beach
area, where a beach bar serves cocktails under a thin bamboo roof.
Location
On Marina di Camerota Beach, less than a 10-minute drive from town
Happy Village is on a sandy stretch of the Marina di Camerota coast, within a 10-minute drive to the center of town where visitors can find shops
and restaurants. Cape Palinuro is about a half-hour drive away; from here, visitors can take a boat tour to see impressive sea caves and a secluded beach.
Naples and its airport can be reached in less than three hours by car.
Rooms
Simple rooms with beautiful outdoor areas
Rooms have minimal decor with white walls and tile
floors. Bamboo furnishings and high ceilings with exposed wooden beams give the
spaces a quaint, rustic feel. Wooden slatted doors open up to furnished outdoor patios
with gorgeous, lush surroundings including vine-covered pergolas and yards with
trees and exotic plants. Some rooms still have tube-style TVs. Bathrooms have small walk-in showers and come with bidets.
Features
Pretty outdoor areas and plenty of on-site dining and activity options
The
hotel's biggest draws may be its lush grounds and a large, sandy beach, although there are also plenty of activities as well as a few dining options. There’s an outdoor pool with a
children’s pool and a whirlpool, and the recreation areas include tennis,
volleyball/basketball, and soccer courts with night lighting. There is a diving center offering PADI courses available as well as boat excursions leaving from the beach to Palinuro for a fee. An activities team organizes group dances, sports tournaments, and nightly entertainment in an amphitheater. There’s a kids' club to entertain the children as well as an outdoor playground in a grassy lawn. There’s also kid-friendly food served at the hotel, along with pizza, seafood, and buffet meals; past guests warn of low quality and repetitive selection. A souvenir shop and tobacco kiosk are on-site, and there’s
free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel as well as free parking.
