Located in the hillside village of Vico Equense, Grand Hotel Moon Valley enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding botanical park, Mount Vesuvius, and the Gulf of Naples. The outside areas of the hotel are the most beautiful, with several seating clusters set up among the trees and green gardens. The large solarium, with swimming pool, has some of the best views in the hotel. Several sun loungers are set under parasols, where guests can relax with a drink from the pool bar. Inside, the decor is mostly elegant with lots of light and airy spaces, though some areas are looking a bit old-fashioned. The lobby gets away with the vintage look thanks to its collection of artifacts and antique goods, while the interior section of the restaurant could do with some freshening up. The hotel is mostly quiet, though it can get quite chaotic when a wedding is taking place. Guests here are mostly leisure travelers looking for a quiet spot, or guests of events happening at the hotel.

Grand Hotel Moon Valley is located in the small picturesque village of Vico Equense in Naples. The location is slightly isolated -- the outside street isn't ideal for walking along, as it's quite busy and narrow, but there are a handful of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel offers a free shuttle that takes guests into town, as well as the harbor and Sorrento. It's a nine-minute drive to the beautiful Marina d'Aequa Beach and an 11-minute drive to Il Bikini Beach. Vico Equense is located between Sorrento and Pompeii, about a half-hour drive from both towns. There's a bus stop within close walking distance and the Seiano Train Station is an 11-minute walk away from the hotel. Naples International Airport is 45 minutes by car. The hotel can organize a shuttle from the airport at an additional charge.

The 107 guest rooms at the Grand Hotel Moon Valley are quite old-fashioned, though remain well-maintained. Decor includes textured beige walls, light tiled floors, wooden window frames with white curtains, wooden furniture, colored bedspreads, and dated framed artwork. All rooms include a fairly large furnished balcony -- previous guests have recommended rooms with a sea view, as the rooms at the back of the hotel mostly look out onto a parking lot. The Superior Rooms are located on the top floor and have the most spacious balconies with stunning views of the botanic park or the Gulf of Naples.
