Scene
Chain hotel with mountain views and a nature theme
Set on large grounds, the Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn is a tranquil resort that offers a relaxing retreat. There's a strong mountain and natural trend in the decor throughout the hotel, starting with two large bear statues at the entrance and leading to a two-story lobby with stacked stone walls and a waterfall. The restaurant has an old-fashioned feel to it, with faux-granite tables and busily patterned carpeting. The center fireplace does bring a cozy atmosphere during the winter months. Brown is a dominant color throughout the hotel; the color is found in much of the carpeting, furniture, and in the artwork.Outside areas provide mountain views from a kidney-shaped outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. For the colder months, there's also an indoor swimming pool and hot tub. With the meeting and conference facilities available, the hotel caters to business travelers. However, the majority of guests are couples and families who are in Oakhurst to visit the nearby Yosemite Park and area attractions.

Rooms
Brown guest rooms with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridge
The 133 guest rooms and suites at Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn offer the basic amenities for a comfortable stay. All of the rooms follow a generic theme, with standard furniture and limited decor -- with exception of a large nature painting covering the walls behind the beds. The dominant color throughout all rooms is brown, with dark brown carpeted flooring, dark brown wood furniture, and brown bed covers, cushions, and curtains that make the rooms seem dark. Guest rooms come in Queen, Two Queen, King, and Two King variants; with suites accommodating for more guests with either three or four beds per suite. All rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, tea- and coffee-making facilities, desks, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms include balconies, with either garden or mountain views. En-suite bathrooms are quite dated with long granite vanities and shower/tub combos covered via a fabric curtain. Hairdryers and Aromae toiletries are provided.
